Even if Keidran were canines, chocolate _probably_ wouldn't be poisonous to them anyway. Theobromine is poisonous to us too and we only digest it a little more quickly than dogs (studies vary, but at most it's about 3x as fast). The reason we don't get theobromine poisoning from chocolate isn't that we're immune to it and dogs aren't, it's because we're so much bigger than most dogs so we can't reasonably eat enough chocolate for it to affect us before we break it down. _Maybe_ dark chocolate would be a danger for a humanoid canine, since the theobromine is in the cacao specifically, but that's a big maybe. And milk chocolate would almost certainly be fine.

Yes, it's poisonous to feral canids. Perhaps by becoming anthro, the Keidren developed a tolerance for it.
