It's probably mitigated by the fact Keith's in one, too. As a couple they seem to be prone to one-upmanship, so it's not surprising for them to do out of character things so long as the other is doing the same.

You're the one imposing on his freedom by saying your opinion of his is identity overrides his opinion of his identity. If you still think this is okay, I'll go ahead and call you a woman named Shelly, since now your identity is a matter of other people's opinion. (note: I also find it funny that you think people saying something shouldn't be said is a violation of free speech, free speech means the government can't put you in jail for what you say, but what you say can still be responded to with "shut up.")
