After Trace spares Laura, he reluctantly brings her back with him and she gradually falls into the role of his apprentice in this "what if" timeline. Suggested by Starcat13!

I suppose in this timeline, Keith meets laura when everyone reaches the estate. That is, depending on how they get past the island without Laura's sacrifice.

This is Templar(!) Trace she now apprentices too. It was curious enough he would spare Laura because of who she reminded him of, but now? You can see enough, JUST ENOUGH, of the Old Trace here, leaving his darker self in much turmoil and conflict as this silly, stuttering fox continues showing him kindness. He really wants to be annoyed and cast her out, but he doesn't do that, and a cold command like that is about as best as he can show gratitude to a keidran. I like it!

I read this as Trace spaCes Laura and was trying to figure out if this was an among us crossover piece or if you just went into horror with no warning

Considering the situation this is still somewhat.. wholesome? Even with Trace as he is right now, him taking in Laura shows he cares even a little. I really enjoy this scene, it’s an absolute great show of story telling in one image. Fantastic work!

Likely the whole journey never happens. Templar!Trace in this timeline seems to be moving away from his genocidal ways. So it's questionable whether Keith would be sent after him in the first place. Heck, it's questionable whether or not the whole story would happen.

Given the original beats of the comic. Laura only gets captured after running away. So in this case, Keith would still be banished and have the task of bringing Trace to the isles. And Trace still seems to be obsessed with finding a way to bring Saria back. Whether or not the other Templars still all go conspiracy on Trace though is another question.

Indeed! I have to wonder if Trace sees a bit of his old self in Laura here, young Trace seemed to have some of that same shyness around people (the ones that weren't ancient dragons anyway). Here's hoping for more of this! :D

I see this as a love story in the making. Yes he did horrible things but Laura is there to heal his heart. Eventually she would reform him. She just takes the place of Flora and he never get amnesia. I guess in this world Keith and Laura would be a couple.

i do wonder what he would do to her at this moment all i see for now he's using her as abit of a slave but since he spared her life he'd eventually loose his grim side and become understanding to how grim he has been then do what he can do right his wrongs

I'll be honest, I fixated on Laura addressing Trace as "Master," having not read the description fully. It left me thinking, "Wow, the other Patrons are such optimists. Why would a slave be so caring?" Then I went back and actually READ THE DESCRIPTION. She's using the title as an apprentice, not as a slave. Masks bless the optimists, as I seem to be an idiot.

Would his desire to draw his sword overcome his desire to go back home though? Laura isn't magically enslaved with a collar and doesn't appear to be in sexual slavery of any kind like other vixens would be. Not to mention that she is wearing that big robe with the Templar Sigil which would indicate a higher position than slavery almost immediately.

I can see trace going kinda the road he went with Flora but of course he wouldnt lose his memories here. He would slowly begin to care about her, then he tried to push her away or ordering her to leave but she wouldnt. Maybe one day trace have a mental break down and laura calm him.

"Its been almost a year since i kill them....i killed every one of them and yet i spared this vixen keidran, up this day i dont understand why i did so but, maybe it was because her eyes were so....scared...the otheres were afraid but her eyes shown her soul and it remind me to....her..." Just then trace heard Laura calling him, asking for her to leave the tea and leave him alone. "Even if my hate for the keidran kind hasn't change i don't seem to be able to mistreat her, perhaps i am going insane"

maybe you're right on that and he could very easily get more caring the more he gets to know laura or other keidran folk and i believe that could lead to a different yet similar sceneario with what has already happened
