Unlike Laura, though, I imagine Alaric had a beyond Herculean mentality to keep those emotions buried so as not to hinder whatever efforts he had to task. Compartmentalization is one hell of a skill.

That's why I relate almost too much to the character. Those who might appear strongest can sometimes hurt the most and keeping it buried for too long does a lot of damage too, unfortunately
