I'm very nostalgic for Half Life 2. My brother and I preordered the game and got it on release back in 2004, in the big box. It was mindblowing back in the day. I'd never seen graphics like it. I still think it holds up.

Anyone else remember that ultra realistic remake of the half life train ride intro? I would love to see a full remake in UE5 so long as it doesn't compromise the gameplay beyond recognition.

I gotta replay the games. I have all of them with the episodes on disk back when pc games were downloaded that way because my dad did a lot of gaming in the early 2000s

I remember seeing that video a few years ago, it was definitely impressive. It would be neat to see HL1 on that engine, but I'm very happy with Black Mesa Source, which is my favorite HL game.

This is amazing, the Orange Box was one of the first collections of games I bought and HL:2, Portal and TF2 all hold a special place in my heart.

Amnesia Trace has the right color scheme and demeanor for Wheatley. Who should we use for GLaDOS? Detritus, perhaps?

Hmm, Red as scout—or maybe demoman because he blows stuff up. Raine has the intellectual/mechanical bent to be the Engineer. Rose for Miss Pauling. Who should be the Heavy?

king adelaide is heavy. raine would be a good engi, zen as sniper (maybe natani though or both!) kathrine as medic(?)

detritus or rose as GLaDOS. She did say that she's connected, like a spiderweb to the estate, meaning that she would fill a largely similar role to GLaDOS, though she doesn't have the malice of the mechanical nightmare

I'm right there with you on nostalgia for HL2, though I got it a bit later with the Orange Box. Great memories! Ravenholm was so spooky the first time I encountered it - but now it's one of the most fun parts with gravity gun shenanigans! Obviously I enjoy this <3

Scout: Zen. His speed and charm fits the boston runner perfectly Pyro: Seraphina. Do i need to explain? Soldier: Red. His fight first personality really fits soldier more than anyone else. Demoman: Trace. While dangerous, he's better on the defensive, luring enemies into traps rather than fighting them head on. Heavy: King Adelaide. A beast, a tank, and a badass. Engineer: Raine (?). her magic and rune work is decent, and her analytical mind is just like engi Medic: Kathrine. She lacks the manic and insanity of medic, but her skills are unparalleled. Sniper: Natani. One of the only people who has ranged weapons, but she also does best in single target elimination with someone else watching her back. Spy: Madelyn. She's a spy.
