Awards, announcements and aliens (Patreon)

Hi folks,

Wishing you the very best for the coming week from everyone at Rusty Towers!

We were blown away by the response last week to the cast announcement to The Hilltop! In case you missed it, you can check out the announcement here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/magnus-live-cast-141358606. We will continue to keep you up to date with The Hilltop as we get closer to the opening date at the end of this month!

Next up, we are so proud to say that The Magnus Protocol won Best Horror or Supernatural podcast at The Independent Podcast Awards. This is a huge honour – please join us in congratulating the cast and crew who work on the show. Rusty Quill’s Marketing Manager, Hattie Quinlan, was also on the judging panel for Best Fiction podcast; be sure to check out the winners and the nominees for some of the UK’s best independent audio drama!

Meanwhile, on the Magnus feed this week is another episode of our spin-off series, Sheeple Chase! This week, Georgie faces her biggest fears, and she and Celia discuss the possibility we aren't alone in the universe.

Finally, we are pleased to announce that a new podcast will be joining the RQ Network! You may already be familiar with the work of the Maeltopia team, including Maeltopia, The Sleep/Wake Cycle and The Gentleman From Hell. The team behind these shows are now releasing a brand-new horror anthology: Burned by a Paper Sun.

Shadows come in a thousand shapes—some drawn long beneath a dying sky, others drifting and lost beneath a wandering cloud. Yet one certainty has always remained: every shadow must have a caster. But what if that isn’t true? What if darkness could stand on its own?

Here, the familiar laws of nature crumble. The Tower of Teeth rises from the soil, the Corpse Flower Plague spreads its rot, and the Great Darkness of 1999 still stains the edges of memory. In these tales, science fails, faith fractures, and the night no longer needs the day to exist.

Some stories stand alone; others intertwine—threads of a greater tapestry woven from nightmare and myth. Each reveals a fragment of the truth hiding in the dark… waiting to be seen.

You can listen to the first three episodes now by searching “Burned by a Paper Sun” wherever you find podcasts, or by visiting https://rustyquill.com/show/burned-by-a-paper-sun/ . If you enjoy the show, please consider leaving a rating or a review, as this is the best way to support a new podcast!
