Hi folks,

A very happy new year from everyone at Rusty Quill! 2025 was an incredibly busy year for us: we saw more fans in person than ever before, thanks to our live events for Magnus Live: The Hilltop and our evening at The Lowry in Manchester, Statement Begins, with Alex and Jonny, we celebrated a decade of Rusty Quill by raising money for charity and hosting a live stream, we welcomed a whole host of new shows onto the RQ Network and, of course, shared new episodes of our shows Neon Inkwell and The Magnus Protocol.

The team is now fully rested after the holiday break and back working on all sorts of exciting things behind the scenes.

Looking ahead at 2026, The Magnus Protocol will return in the Spring and Neon Inkwell, where we showcase amazing short audio drama series, will have two new stories for you to delve into: Welcome to Fosters, which is a about a private consulting wizard in an alternate version of Sydney, Australia, and Rez High, where a group of young adults in a distant future explore a gamified recreation of a 20th century High School. We’ll also begin recording season 2 of Trice Forgotten, our found-family seafaring adventure created by Nemo Martin. If you’re looking for a heartwarming voyage of friendship, food and family, be sure to check out the very first season, which stars The Magnus Protocol’s Shahan Hamza, among other familiar voices!

2026 also sees another milestone for Rusty Quill: ten years of The Magnus Archives. We’ve got some plans for how we’ll be celebrating, but more on that to come…

Finally, we’re currently completing the judging process for Rusty Fears. Our judges have been blown away by the quality of submissions this time around, making their job incredibly difficult! Once the final decision has been reached, we’ll be announcing the winners and starting work on producing the winning stories.
