Hi folks,

Today, we are pleased to share some news about our RQ Original podcasts!

As well as The Magnus Protocol season 2 act 3 returning later this year, we have two brand-new short series coming to our anthology show, Neon Inkwell. For those of you who may not have listened to Neon Inkwell before, it is our home for shorter audio dramas from both new creators and some Rusty Quill favourites. Neon showcases the very best that audio drama can be, with a new story and genre always around the corner.

So far, on Neon you can find:

Of That Colossal Wreck, an existential science fiction written by Sasha Sienna and Jonathan Sims about a group of survivors on board a vast space station infested with dangerous alien creatures

Inexplicables, a dark comedy written by Tom Critch and Alexander J Newall, which follows chaotic thirty-something siblings discovering their hometown is a hub for vampires, werewolves, zombies and more

The Pit Below Paradise, a coming-of-age story by J. Evelyn Gaskell about Dori (he/her), a cult sacrifice… until it is rescheduled. Forced into a future she never expected, Dori must navigate a whole new world: the local college

Broken Hearted Monsters, a bittersweet series where classic horror meets iconic American road trips, written by Shane Ormond and Morgan Ormond. After Dr Frankenstein is killed, his estranged creature, Frank, must travel to his former home for the funeral. Frank uses this as an excuse to plan the ultimate road trip across America, inviting his ex-boyfriend, Dracula, along for the ride

Of course, all of these are available to listen to ad-free right now for the Knights and Nobles member tiers!

If you’re already caught up, however, we have two brand-new series launching very soon. Firstly, beginning in March 2026 is Welcome to Fosters.

Written by Imogen Cassidy and directed by Chris Magilton, Welcome to Fosters is an urban fantasy set in an alternate version of Sydney, Australia.

A small-time private consulting wizard, Jill Foster, and her new apprentice, Mark Wilson, attempt to keep Jill’s business afloat by removing magical pests, dispersing restless spirits and tracking down a group of necromancers out to take over the world. One day, they might be communicating with an ancient spirit, another… trying to track down a lost cat. Welcome to Fosters is a dive into a magical reality not that different from ours, filled with Australian humour, magical incantations and the restless dead!

Then, launching in May 2026, we have Rez High, written by Brendon Connelly.

In the distant future, a band of scavenging young adults find a vintage VR system that becomes their gateway to a surprising alien world: a gamified recreation of a 20th century high school.

Rez High grapples with timely questions about video games, from accessibility to representation, while sending its cast of compelling characters on an adventure across both virtual realities and epic, post-apocalyptic landscapes.

You can listen to Neon Inkwell ad-free on our members platforms (Knights and Nobles tiers) or find it by searching for “Neon Inkwell” wherever you find podcasts. If you enjoy a series, please do consider leaving a rating or a review, as this is a great way to support a show!

Have a good week all!

Magnus will come back when magnus is ready, patience is key

Richard Clark

Sure they said Magnus was February before, later this year is pretty ambiguous

JJ Hunter

I am so hyped for Neon Inkwell's return! I will always love Magnus, but am having a hard time with listening to larger scale horror stuff lately given all the real-life horrors ongoing. Having some smaller scale stories to enjoy will be such a treat.

Apofisu

It used to be February. I assume the delay is because of issues that would've made it less awesome if they didn't delay.
