The amount of times Jon says “I see” in the episode is comedy gold

Laney K.

Can we talk about the line "You talk of free will while we're standing in your f@#king web?" ??? Holy moly 😅

Lauren Richards

The energy in this is electric and I’m so excited to see where this goes!

Bailey Wind

Oh my god I KNEW IT! HILL TOP ROAD THEORISTS HOW ARE WE DOING??????

Eli Labat-Angstadt

Everything is coming together! I love this. Thanks, RQ!

Drawmeter

Annabelle stop giving me hope that Jon and Martin can end up okay!!!

Avanii

Absolutely amazing, no words just intense love for this podcast aaAAA

GugTheGoose

That was fun! Grateful for the transcript though, that distorted voice wasn't easy to parse.

jelmarose

Chekhov's lighter finally used!!! I keep saying this but every episode of season 5 is so amazing.

Lurkin

Love Chioma's voice...

Myth Over Matter

Every episode this season has had me screaming. I'm so excited and terrified to see where it goes

Sam Symonds

Idc what she's done, ilu Annabelle 🕷️🖤

Bruna G

RIP Chioma Nwalioba’s beautiful voice :(

Pip Walker

Hand flapping and silent squealing.

Catherine Lashley

To the person who’s tumblr post I saw that predicted this literally word for word - ily and I hope you’re having a good day

José Manuel Santiago Yepes

I finally get my shoutout!! My full name is a bit tricky to pronounce for non-Spanish speakers, sorry Alex hahaha

Heather MacKenzie

As a person with arachnophobia, this episode literally made my skin crawl. But, damn! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I KNEW that lighter was part of the Web!

Reid Sandlund

SO MUCH VINDICATION. Tying a tone of my theories together... I would like to add though, I had a bit of trouble understanding Annabelle in parts due to the pitch effects? I think it was just a but too deep that it made it hard to register. Love the ep tho!!!

Idris

because it knew it was eventually going to happen anyway, regardless of what it did. if you can't prevent something, control it instead.

Dagmar

aaaaa amazing episode!! I got so freaked out by the spiderfication sfx

Liz M

Amazing

Opaline illyria

I missed having level-headed Basira in the mix.

The Octopus Gallery

I definitely let out a very satisfied “Ha!” multiple times as the threads came together

vosqui

the magnus archives sure is a podcast

dirtgrub

that sure did,,, happen!

b987

sexy jon rights

b987

is jon jarchivist free to hold hands

Bruna G

Why did she transform though? Was killing her there one of the ways to cement the doorway?

Bruna G

THIS IS GREAT BUT ALSO, I *THOUGHT* I WOULD HAVE *LESS* THEORIES AFTER THIS ONE

gojo fujoshi

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. that's the sound of me yelling

Juls SK Vernet

To be dramatic otherwise the others would have killer her immediately without listening

emma

the magnus archives is a podcast

gojo fujoshi

Literally just the drama of the thing

Bruna G

@Juls and @Jessica, idk, wouldn’t a literal spider monster be easier to kill than a human looking woman? She did say they widened the crack with the violent deaths of servants of the Powers.

Abigail

When Annabel said explosion I said “fucking spider lighter” out loud. My co-worker was so confused, lol

Laurel Buchanan

First name in the Patreon list!! Thank you for this honor Alex - I feel like a VIP B)

Bruna G

“[MUFFLED AGITATION] [MUFFLED ANXIETY]” Martin once again being relatable

Deneb

All those centuries of planning and decades of scheming and yet the Web didn't account for its deadliest foe – "What if I throw it into the pit"

Sofia Gustafsson

I AM SCREAMING! This freaking podcast is just so good!

Michael Larsen

Spoiler Warning: They Web LIES!!! Destroy the archive, destroy Jonas, and the power does indeed flow into the nearest receptacle: but it sure as hell isn’t the tapes, it’s Jon! Also, who finds it interesting that Martin has just as easy a time manipulating the powers of the Web as he did the Lonely? Martin will save us all!

ag

[softly] .... fuck...

jingqi

i was thinking it's extremely likely she intentionally made it seem like she didn't want him to throw it in the pit, when throwing it in the pit might actually serve the Web's plan

Jamie Hilts

I feel like we already know what Jon chose. Because we're listening to the tapes.

ThirdFromTheLeft

now THIS was some excellent horror. the dawning realization that the web reaching into another world was in fact the show itself gave me such a CHILL! and what a brilliant way to write the existence of the show into the story!!

NoMercyPercy

Omg omg omg omg it's so good. Also I'm just very happy there will no longer be any spider soundscaping (hopefully)

Kara Moskowitz

That was great. And, maybe Jon and Martin will save the world and both live!

Zorya Dolgushkin

jhshkflsh ahhh so good!!! I honestly have never been so happy to be so wrong because up until these last two episodes I for whatever reason really didn't think that the tapes had anything to do with the web. But it makes so much sense that they do and the pieces fitting together like this is so satisfying!! Annabelle's reveal was amazing and omgggg I'm on the edge of my seat and can't wait to see what happens next. Holy shit so many good one liners in this episode too, loving the humor as usual. Thank you!!

Zorya Dolgushkin

Yes I think read that one too!! I'm like damn did you read the future or what!!

Tahir Raines

I am honestly always impressed and awed by the connections and worldbuilding of this series.

Lillian Collea

I guess we don't ignore the pit now?

Jess Nicolazzo

The payoff of this show is incredible. All the way through. I can not wait to go back to the beginning for a full relisten when it ends. I mean apart from the obvious, even the lighter was significant I mean it’s insane 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Marie

The way I screeched 'THE LIGHTER!!!!' in this episode speaks to how masterfully this show has been written and put together. All the pieces coming together in a slowly dawning realisation is *chef's kiss* perfection.

Eytan

Ok, seriously. I'm sort of ok with the entities moving over here to lurk behind our threshold, it's not like they can make things much worse. But if the last episode ends up being a ritual that manifests them, I'll be pissed.

Carolina Martins

ah so Jacob's statement (0.1) works as a warning to us as well

Sunnyrea

We always knew that lighter was gonna be something! Interesting that it was a anchor for the tapes.

Carolyn Tea

The last two words... perfect!

Sinclair Cross

YOU STILL HAVE AN HOUR AND A HALF TO TELL ME WHAT ELSE IS GOING TO HAPPEN, AND I AM SO EXCITED

Ari

I love how it takes this long for Jon to realize the lighter is sus
