So I have two main pieces of news. One is that last quarter's income, between Patreon and Amazon sales, was just about enough to support me for another quarter. I'm self-sufficient, and not just burning through savings. At least for this quarter.

The second thing is that going down south and experiencing that relentless peace and quiet does seem to be good for the writing, at least in small doses. Most of my time down there was spent doing family stuff, but I did get some writing in. Early morning, staring out over that hilltop view... it's great. At least until the insects wake up.

I'll have to see if I can borrow it for a week in Autumn or Winter. The thing is, while I did write, I didn't write any of my existing stories. I came up with a new one, mostly on the drive down and felt inspired to write the first three chapters. There's quite a lot more where that came from, but I'm not sure how to proceed from here.

I do need another story when Dungeon Fun goes over to Kindle. Rewound or Apocalypse Academy was going to fill that role, but now I'm not sure. If I could, I'd keep writing all the stories, but I don't think that's possible. For now, have at the first three chapters of The Theif and the Dragonslayer.

Oh, I can put the blurb in here:

The Thief and the Dragonslayer

A Most Unheroic Adventure

Lif has troubles, you don’t even know. Growing up on the streets as an orphan was hard enough, but then he broke into the wrong building and now he’s being hunted by Necromancers. On the run, he stumbles into the score of the century, but spending any of it could re-ignite a thousand-year-old Holy War.

The re-incarnated Angel he’s been saddled with thinks that is a great idea, and is gonna try getting him to lead the Holy armies— from the front. To top it all off, the girl he likes seems absolutely determined to get herself killed.

The only person Lif can turn to is his best friend, who happens to be a demon. Now if Lif can just explain that to his sword… well maybe they have a one percent chance of survival.

PS: Each chapter starts on a new page, so don't forget to scroll down.
