"Why are you using my photo?!" – The model was outraged years later! (Patreon)

Recently, I met up with a colleague—coffee, chats, discussions about models, and some funny stories. And then he told me something that left me a bit shocked.
Three years ago, he worked with a model and got a signed release for the entire photoshoot. He planned to create a calendar, but the project didn’t come together at the time, so he put it on hold.
Time passed, and now, in 2025, he finally decided to bring the idea to life. The calendar was designed, the announcement was posted… and suddenly, he gets an aggressive message from that very same model: "Why are you using my photo without my permission?"
He reminded her that she had signed the release three years ago, even found and showed her the document. But instead of resolving the issue, this only made her angrier. Not wanting to waste his energy arguing, he simply removed the photo from the calendar.
So now the question is: how normal is it to change your mind years later and demand that pictures be removed, even when everything was agreed upon and documented?
Photographers, what do you think? Have you ever experienced something like this?
