How not to take photos #28 (Patreon)

oday we’re dissecting another episode from my “Photography Mistakes” series. Fair warning: it may be hard to focus—our model is showcasing her chest to great effect, and your eyes will naturally lock on those curves. Admit it: you looked there first and only started reading afterward. 😉

Now for the details:

• The “missing” breast
  The pose beautifully highlights one breast, but the other is almost completely pinned by her arm and disappears from the frame. Attractive? Partly. But the composition loses balance.

• Awkward hand
  Take a look at the free hand: the palm is bent at an unnatural angle, which distracts and makes the pose feel stiff. Classic result of saying, “Just pose however you like”—the model tries, but without guidance those subtle nuances get lost.
