Dear Patrons,

"Adding Houdini To Your Arsenal" is our next premium course. It addresses 3D artists that are proficient with another 3D tool and want to learn to use Houdini in companion to their main tool or exclusively. The course requires good general 3D knowledge, but no prior Houdini knowledge. It's designed to help you learn the most important parts of Houdini as fast as possible, to be able to use the software in your next production. The course starts next week and will run in parallel to Moritz' VEX course.

The course includes, but is not limited to, the following topics.

The node graph and different views on your data
Houdini contexts
The scene level
SOPs
The attribute system
Introduction to VEX and VOPs
Working with Splines
Working with Polygons and UVs
Procedural modeling - a procedural cloner setup
Working with Volumes (the title graphic setup)
Introduction to DOPs
Particle systems in Houdini
The Bullet solver
Cloth with PBD
Rendering with Redshift3D

I'd love to see you next week. cheers Manuel

DsharpK

It seems to be a fairly long course :)

Yan

Which package i have to subscribe for this?

Will Young

Will all the course material be available from the beginning? If not, over how long is the course spread?

entagma

No. The course will take place one lesson at a time, like the volume sn VEX courses. It'll run at least 12 weeks.

Julian

Being somewhat new to Houdini and programming (coming from C4D) would it be plausible to take this course at the same time as the Vex 101 course?

entagma

Absolutely, if you find the time for both. The courses stay available though. You can do one after the other if you prefer.

elephant vfx

My only experience with Houdini was using it as scene assembler for lookDev and lighting back around 2009. Looking forward to start this course, it looks great!

Albert Pougnol

looking forward to this course a lot !

Hi, I am interested in Houdini for FX and FX Td tasks. And I am using maya for a while for particle, fluid and also water sims(bifrost) . Is this course suitable for me, would you recommend it to me, I am just looking for the right place to start

entagma

Hi there. The course focuses on all the most important areas of Houdini, to get you going quickly. Although it covers particles, cloth with PBD and Bullet, it is not a VFX course, but more a general introduction to the software.

Lasse Lauch

Hey guys, happy to be on board! When does this course start exactly? This week?

entagma

Welcome, Lasse! Well Manu promised to me to start this week :) Cheers, Mo

Max Wood

Hi guys, I'm wondering whether I'm reading to tackle your courses yet but this sounds perfect for me. I'm a bit confused, are all courses included within the $29 In-Depth reward?

Yan

Hi, is the course already start?

entagma

HI Guys, for some strange reason all the comments and replies I added in the last days via the iOS app do not show up on the website. I readded the comments now.

entagma

All the courses are included with the $29 tier. You have access to all material we ever published as long as you are an active supporter.

entagma

This course will teach you how to use Houdini, not necessarily how to tackle TD tasks. Some of the setups shown might go in the FX direction, but the course is meant to explain the principles and concepts of Houdini more than focus on VFX techniques.

Olaf Finkbeiner

Hi Manuel, just out of curiosity one question: Did i inspire this with my "why i like houdini" video series? If so great, if not "zwei doofe ein Gedanke", also great... see ya at FMX. Ahoi Olaf

entagma

Hi Olaf, to be honest, I don’t know nothing about your videos. But now you made me curious? Do you have a link for me?

methodnmadness_

how many episodes have been released? I'd like to know so I can catch up.

Bob

If you click on the AHTYA tag under the video it will bring you to the series

Eyad Arabi

I am confused. How do I enroll?

Eyad Arabi
