Really nice! are you planning on having this tutorial also for Octane?

E R RODRIGUEZ

Would you consider a tutorial for radeon pro houdini 18 plugin ?

entagma

Probably not. My experience with RPR was somewhat mixed so far. :) Cheers, Mo

Well, while nvidia is king there are quite a few people using high end RadeonPro graphics cards who would love to see Houdini taking advantage of these cores, you Ntagma guys have quite a following that would only be enhanced.

I downloaded exact setup and Redshift takes 1m44sec to render on a 2080ti with 11g ram. These seems much longer than I would expect and drastically slower than Mantra. Perhaps because Im using the demo version of Redshift? I did get some error messages on load like" Skipping unrecognized parameter "DisableSamplingOptimizations". Skipping unrecognized parameter "EnableOptiXRTOnSupportedGPUs". Skipping unrecognized parameter "EnableAutomaticSampling". Skipping unrecognized parameter "NVLinkModeForVolumeGrids". Skipping unrecognized parameter "NVLinkModeForGeometry". "

Which version of Redshift do you have installed? Might be that... Cheers, Mo

Hey Chaz, as always I recommend starting with what appeals more to you. A quickstart might be a good intro on what's possible, while the rendering 101 course tries to cover more ground. Just checked the scene file and the Rhino is in there and displaying correctly on my side. Have you checked the file node where we load the obj file into Houdini? Cheers, Mo

The attached file for this lesson doesn't appear to be correct. It looks like it belongs to the AHTYA08 lesson. Cheers.

Hi Chaz, I just checked the download link and to me that seems to be the correct file. Cheers, Mo

Hi, do you have any video about how to render big size still images on Redshift? Thanks

Hello, is it possible to use Houdini's Open Image denoiser with RedShift? I am asking because having an AMD card Optix Denoiser is not an option, and Altus is incredibly slow and gives very strange results (maybe I didn't find good tutorial for it?).... I am thinking of using Houdini's compositing Denoise2.0 node, but I couldn't find any information on how to use Compositing in Houdini as a part of rendering / postproductionworkflow. Closest analogy would be using Compositor in Blender. Thanks :)
