June 2026 State of the Doodlin' (Patreon)

I'm not as caught up on the owed pieces as I wanted to be although am currently still working on catching up. June was a unique situation because I was highly productive in some ways, having drafted almost all of Lancer Chapter 4, however I still have several more patreon pieces I need to finish if I want to get ahead of the backlog instead of falling further behind.

I have decided that I will continue ahead with July as a standard month for Patreon commitments since it's too short notice to use it as a catch-up month, however August 2026 will be a catch up month. Since I will not be doing any polls for the month of August, if you want to pause your membership for August I understand, which is why I am giving a full month's heads up. However, I will still be posting finished sketches and color pics, and I appreciate the support of everyone who keeps their pledges in during a catch up month.

I want to get off on the right foot with Lancer Chapter 4 and post at least 2 pages a month, although I may be utilizing some outside help to stay on schedule without falling behind on Patreon commitments. The chapter is almost completely drafted with a fully written script and rough art drafts in place for 22 of the 25 pages (I'll be finishing the remaining 3 pages shortly). This is the most thorough planning I've done for a chapter since I started the comic, and I think it will be a huge help in keeping it on schedule. The only blockers left are finishing the art drafts, and either drawing or producing a cover. I haven't decided on a cover yet and I'll have to figure out whether I should draw it myself, commission it, or do a trade. Hopefully I'll have that sorted soon.Chapter 4 is a shorter chapter but it's one I've been looking forward to for a while that tells a smaller, more personal story, and it has a fun B-plot about Shieldball, the most popular sport in the galaxy. I hope you'll all be there when it premieres!
