Ah yes, the classic move, say the video might be out before the end of the month and then put it out halfway into next month.

Anyway, I spent a lot of time double checking this one, it's a pretty complicated game so hopefully it was enough. With games this big and complex though, there's always a feeling more could have been done. I learnt a lot making this one though, so hopefully i can integrate that into the next video's production.

This was the project I started in November, all the gameplay was recorded back then and I some of script was drafted, but after a full month of work more or less, I got burnt out on the project. I came back to it recently and I'm glad it's finally done because I've been meaning to opine on this game for quite some time.

Anyway whether or not FF13 resonated with you I hope you enjoy the deep dive! I'll catch you back here for a bigger update soon. What's your take on this game?

Grats on getting the video out, I thought it turned out great. I've never played 13, but the video sure made me want to.

Just rewatched this one and I think it's really interesting to compare the characters in XIII with those in XV and XVI. While I personally enjoyed characters in both there's definitely no denying that they're not as memorable or unique as classic FF parties. Characters in VII or XIII have these big blunt loud character traits (the scared kid, the enthusiastic hero, the aloof mercenary), but then a lot of human subtleties once you dig into them a little more throughout the story. I think it's interesting that XV basically just took those big character traits and had very little beneath them, which makes it hard to be invested in the party's drama, while XVI has characters basically only express themselves through subtleties, trying to keep a brave face and rarely letting much real character show. I really liked Gav in XVI for instance but he doesn't leave as bright an impression as Snow or Hope did for sure.
