Hey everybody, here's last night's Crash video. I small look at the game in question and a more in-depth look at the concept of remakes.

While I don't have my laptop back yet, I did manage to zone in on the problem with my Desktop PC. Using an old GPU to test the PC again it managed to boot up, and the problems I was once having with it vanished; pointing towards the culprit.

So looks like my GTX 780 is fried. But luckily I have a brand new GTX 1070 on the way to replace it. Apparently the GPU market is running low on resources so it's taking its time to arrive.

For the Crash video I edited everything off the Desktop by using my i7 CPU's built-in graphics capabilities. It went pretty smoothly so now I'm really looking forward to being back up and running with a full rig once the new GPU arrives in the next few days.

I big thanks goes out to  @KyleJohnsonVA who helped me out through all this trouble shooting and of course YOU GUYS, my backers, without whom these repairs would have taken much longer to realise. Looking to get some more content out quickly in the next week due to this little hiatus if I can!

Keep in mind I also spent a week with  @MrClemps working on a mystery upcoming project, so be on the look out for that too!

 Catch you all soon!

Crash Bandicoot is Back with More Graphics

Another Classic Sony Jump em-up gets the remake treatment, but does it fair better than Skankit and Wank? https://www.patreon.com/thegamingbritshow https://twitter.com/TheGamingBrit https://www.facebook.com/TheGamingBritShow/

I have mixed feelings with this video. While I get that it's using the new Crash remake to talk about game remakes in general, it feels kinda unfocused at times. Like you wanted to make a ton of points at once under a short time frame. Points 1. Old games aren't properly saved like old movies and stuff (which is true) 2. I have a problem with HD remakes but not remasters (in practice) 3. What's the point of remaking Crash? Wait, I kinda get the point? Still gonna look dated 4. Old graphics aren't bad, plus old Crash games still look great 5. Game critics are bad 6. Good thing kids will now grow up with hard games/3D platformers now 7. New Crash is faithful/looks different. 8. Frame rate isn't better, why?! Loading screens are... why they long? This feels like it was written, I wouldn't say in a rush, but just as a means to get a point across that could have been done in it's own video. Maybe I was just expecting someones thoughts on how this new Crash compares to the old, and instead I got a basket full of other topics that just weren't expanded on properly. Still, if I want opinions on how these games compared to the old ones by people who play them to hell and know them front to back, I got Caddy and SomecallmeJohnny, and they just did a co-lab. I'll wait for B_Mask for his video on new Crash on the artistic side since it's pretty much his forte. Maybe I'm being harsh, or stupid, who knows? It's not my channel, and I still enjoyed the video well enough, and I apologize for the mess with computers you're going through. Maybe make a video focusing on HD Remakes vs Remasters and Preservation. I get that you were (cleverly) using Crash HD as a platform to jump of to discuss said topic, but then the video just kinda ping-ponged between both "main topics" and then a side-dish of "Game critics suck lol" came in. I hope what I said wasn't stupid enough for you to dislike me now, oh boy.

There's quite a few old games shops here in Vancouver, WA and Spokane. Often without ridiculous markups. I picked up a Japanese Sega Saturn and Panzer Dragoon for around $80 on a whim. I'm sure there are stores like that wherever you are; you just have to squint a bit to find them.
