TGBS PRODUCTION UPDATE! BIG UPDATE! (Patreon)
Content
First I want to show off my latest purchases for the channel. For the past few years I've been limited to recording only PC games and console that support HDMi output. This has made it hard to get quality footage from older systems. That is finally about to change though with my recent acquiring of the OSSC upscaler:

This thing allows me to input Component, VGA and Scart cables and output them into HDMi with double and sometimes quadruple the resolution! Consoles like the Sega Saturn look amazingly crisp fed through this device:

More importantly though is the VGA input this device has. You may not know this but one console that supported such and output was.... drum roll....

The Dreamcast! Which yes, means I can finally record the original Code Veronica through VGA at a stunning 960p resolution.

VGA is amazing on Dreamcast and so far I've yet to play a game through the cable that hasn't output to 480p (multiplied by 2 to 960p when fed through OSSC) and 60hz.
The game looks super crisp, and I'm excited to deliver you guys the next Road to the Rocket Launcher you've been anticipating with this excellent quality footage!
Getting an OSSC wasn't the only thing I had to do to get this footage though. My HDMi capture card, the Elgato 1080/60 was actually too primitive to understand some of these resolutions the OSSC outputs, so alongside the OSSC I also had to buy another capture device; that being the Startech:

This baby allows me to record at basically any resolution, super high bitrates and with a 1 to 1 pass through to the capture software; meaning in a pinch I can play the games I'm recording directly off my PC screen, pretty cool!
Of course I've gotta thank you guys, the backers, for these amazing new toys, all of this combined was well over 300 powerful British pounds, and without you all it would have been hard to justify the luxury. I look forward to returning the favour with super high quality retro footage in the TGBS vids to come! It's gonna look sick!!! Finally, no more inconsistent train wrecks like some of the footage in the beach video!
I also wanna shout out HyperBitHero, who has been working his way through different recording devices for a while now, and is the one who ultimately recommended this setup. It's always less stressful when buying expensive equipment when you have someone to confirm its quality!
Finally I want to apologise for the little drought of content on the channel in the past few weeks. I took a little break at the start of November and after that I've been sick ever since in one form or another. Check out my latest streams on HyperBit's Channel to hear me coughing and spluttering. I've still been at work though, and the latest video shouldn't be more than a few more days away:

Thanks for your patience, it won't be long now, so I'll keep the OOOoOOOOoooOO, mystery of what it is to myself.
Once I'm feeling better I'll record some more bonuses for the Patreon, November has been a month all about charging up my power again; a training arch. I've got a new setup and the ability to create brand new types of content, exciting as all hell! Catch you all soon!
