Glass Rose | Back From the Dead (Patreon)

Wild card time. The Glass Rose video is up; a look at the obscure Japan/Europe only PS2 point and click from Capcom and Cing. I would like to cover some more Cing at some point, while Glass Rose proved to be disappointing, some of Cing's other games were actually pretty classy and perhaps worth a look on the channel.

Some things I didn't bring up in this video:

Quick Time Events; ahead of the time for 2003, Glass Rose has obnoxious little segments where you click an option quickly or get clocked over the head or something and forced to do it again. There's about 4 in the whole game so not really worth bringing it up.

Multiple endings; the criteria for getting them being dependant on if you collected enough of your friend's heart fragments and then some choices you make near the end. Picking the heart fragments up is REALLY tedious and you might fail to get one of the happier endings just because picking like 100 of them up can wear on one's patience. You can get a bunch at once though if you complete...

...Very Cryptic Extra Riddles, which are scattered across the game. They're quite hard to find and figure out. Usually the answer to them involves clicking on some things in the environment throughout the mansion in a certain order. Harder than deciphering them though is figuring out that they're optional riddles at all that need to be solved at that moment and not just some weird bit of flavour text or something involving the main story to figure out at a later date.

Anyway, I also did my first ever commercial placement in this video, which I hope wasn't too invasive. After betting it all on DMC5 last month I needed to recoup the cost of working on JUST that for 2 months. Ultimately ad placements here and there are the kind of thing that will allow me to make whatever kind of video I want in the future.
