Video Production Update June 3rd 2020 (Retrospective, "Sales Tax" change for some backers) (Patreon)

Hey everybody, so I'm working away on the latest script, and nearly have it ready to go. 

As you may already know, the next video is gonna be a retrospective on a series with 6 games. I don't think I've seen anybody guess it yet, so here I am to reveal the series is....

*drum roll*

I worry when nobody guesses the things I'm hinting at I'm going to let everybody down. I think most of you are gonna enjoy this one though.

I started writing about Killzone last November and gave the series a replay, beating a couple of the games which I hadn't played before. I have a lot to say about the series and how it changed over the years for better and worse. It really has an interesting place in shooter history and the ways it tried to play to the market make it an incredible case study.

We haven't seen a Killzone in 7 years so now seems a good time to look back and assess...

Also, Patreon have sent over some news regarding upcoming pledges for some backers. 

Apparently the cost of your pledge to TGBS (and anyone else you back) is going to go up slightly starting from the end of June in certain countries and only in certain cases, because of some change to TAX law for digital transactions.

People in the UK and the EU won't be affected, but other countries including Australia, Japan, Norway, as well as certain US states, will be seeing a slight change. This will also depend on the amount you're giving and what tier you're at.

Because it only impacts pledges with some kind of service tied to them like the extra videos, from what I understand the percentage cost increase should only affect the first 3 dollars of your pledge to TGBS. It's a bit all over the place; you can see the full breakdown of what's changing and whether you'll be affected here.

Patreon sent me a message suggesting I let you all know before they send out an email about it. Sorry if I'm late and they already informed you, I'm not sure when their email is supposed to be sent out.

Anyway, I figured you'd all want to know in advance so there's no nasty surprises down the line. It shouldn't be a big change, but I thought it was important to offer full disclosure.

I think you'll all enjoy the Killzone video, but if you were expecting something a little more "classic TGB", after that Retrospective we're gonna be doing a big marathon of anticipated follow ups to past TGBS videos, so stay tuned.
