Video Production Update June 9th 2021 (Patreon)
Content
Welcome back everybody and welcome for the first time if you're a new backer coming over from the new update video.
With the last block of videos complete and the votes in for the next block of videos I'm ready to present to you the TGBS roadmap for the coming few months:

After the Ninja Gaiden 3 video was posted, 5 dollar backers got to choose the order of these releases and I really didn't know what to expect. The comments indicated it was a hard choice for most of the voters.
In a way I'm happy for you to take the choice out of my hands.
After the Killzone video I took a break from the main projects to do 2 small videos on PN03 and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat respectively. Judging by the complexity of the 4 main videos on the new road map I'm just going to be heading straight in this time.
Like last time I'll be doing an Insider Review alongside every major video release as well. Though keep in mind that I may do more Insider reviews than are just shown on this roadmap. I did the Cyberpunk and the Miles Morales Insiders without placing them on the last roadmap.
Like last time, I have an idea of which new game releases I'm gonna do the Patreon only Insider reviews for, I just don't want to set them in stone since occasionally I do change my mind or end up falling off from playing a new release.
Backlog with Brit videos aren't displayed on the roadmap though I hope to get at least one out every month or so. You should be seeing more Dino Crisis soon.

Our next major video will be a look at Kingdom Hearts 1 and the footage capture process for this is underway at the moment. We'll be taking a look primarily at the mechanics but also touching on story beats and how they intermingle with the mechanics in cool ways. Hopefully it will be a pretty comprehensive review to start out our Kingdom Hearts Retrospective.
I'll be recording the game using an NTSC PS2 disc. You'll be getting to see some high quality footage of the original release thanks to the OSSC upscaler. The gif above comes from one of my recordings, though it's a little more compressed than it will look when on Youtube.
There are significant differences between the original release of Kingdom Hearts and the Final Mix re-release so I wanted to assess the game in my video as it played and looked when it was first offered to us in western markets. I think this helps better contextualise its place in history and what the game was striving for out of the gate via both its design and chosen platform.
Maybe later down the line we could do a separate video for final mix changes, we'll see how it goes.
I'll be updating you further in the coming month as the video gets further into production.

As for the rest of the videos, everything is in place to get them recorded through similar means as KH. They're all videos I've wanted to do for a long time now so I'm tremendously excited.
When the next 4 vids are done we'll once again have another vote around that time to pick the order of the subsequent 4 videos. I'm hoping at minimum I'll get all 4 videos of the main videos above out by the end of the year and have some time to get started on another block.
For completion's sake here's a completed version of the last roadmap, though I am terribly embarrassed to show it now with those original prospective dates still on it.

Safe to say I won't be that overly optimistic again. Ultimately the videos take as long as they take depending on the subject matter. Something as intricate as the NG3 video wasn't the kind of thing I could just force into existence by putting a date into a photoshop doc.
I've been very grateful of how patient you've all been during the last block of videos. While I realise now that creating arbitrary deadlines is not the solution for getting videos out faster, I'm still looking for methods within the production process itself to speed things along.
This was one of many reasons for terminating the name in credits perk, but there's other places I'm trying to improve on too within the script writing and editing fazes. I think being more decisive with my decisions is important, not stressing so much over phrasing or perfectly clean audio and concentrating more on simply getting my points across; the ultimate backbone of my videos anyway. Though I'm still gonna be a stickler for high quality original game footage, that will probably not change any time soon.
If some of you were hoping for a Back from the Dead in the next block I'm sorry to disappoint but I promise I'll be putting one into the next vote. I have some BftDs planned I'm extremely stocked for and they'll be a great outlet for some light hearted fun once these big analytical videos are out of the way.
In the mean time if you want to see me more often just messing around I'm streaming a lot recently on Twitch here. Usually I streaming around 8pm UK time and it's been a lot of fun. The VOD of me losing my mind in Knack 2 is still up at the moment if you want to see some gaming at its cheekiest.
Anyway that's gonna be it from me for now. I'll catch you back here real soon. A big thanks again to everyone who backed over this last block of videos and those who are new here backing for the first time during our next block. They'll be fun stuff coming up both on the main channel and here only on Patreon very soon!
Catch ya later!
