Video Production Update October 28th 2021 (Patreon)

Hey everybody. Sorry it's been so long since the last Production Update. I didn't want to do another one until the next video was well on its way to being finished.

As you can see above the KH1 video is finally approaching completion. There's still some cleaning up and tweaks I wanna make; mostly just in terms of how I'm phrasing things. I want the video to be detailed but concise - a tricky balance when it comes to discuss this title!

This video has taken an extra long time. One reason is that of course Kingdom Hearts is a complex multi-layered game in terms of narrative and gameplay. The second reason is that my editing software hasn't been too fond of my Kingdom Hearts footage. My KH footage takes longer to scrub through as my software hitches a bit when it comes to loading it in.

It could be just a one off case to do with the footage I've captured of KH or it may indicate I need to look into some PC upgrades soon. I'll decide what to do based on how the editing software handles some other videos after this one is complete.

I hoped to get this rough edit complete earlier this month but I also came down with a bit a cold which hasn't helped the process. Thankfully I'm on the other side of it now.

Once Kingdom Hearts is posted I hope to roll straight into Metroid Prime 2. That's a game I've beaten countless times throughout the years so I aim to move through production much faster than Kingdom Hearts.

When it comes to the roadmap I will almost definitely be producing more Patreon exclusive Insider Reviews than just 4 in the time it takes to finish the KH, MP2, RE0 and SH3 videos. In the next few months you'll probably see more reviews on Patreon of recent games than this list originally hinted at. I've been working on an Insider review this month about a new game, but it's fallen behind since it required replaying some prior entries in its series for me to feel comfortable talking about it. I might push that one back a little and focus on a different Insider for now.

I'll also have a new part of Dino Crisis 2 BwB coming out soon. The Patreon content in general has fallen a bit behind this month as I really wanted to make major strides with the KH vid since it's been in production so long.

Anyway I'm really excited to get KH out, and I'm working to get it done as soon as possible. Not only am I itching to release KH but everything that comes after as well. I'm getting to play and talk about so many good games for videos in the next few months so it's hard not have a smile on my face. See you soon!

Given the context of this scene I may have unintentionally ended this update somewhat ominously haha.
