Video Production Update March 31st 2022 (Patreon)

Hey everybody, just want to update you all on where things are at and what to expect going forward. Let's update the progress chart:

In addition to this there have also been Insider Reviews of Halo Infinite and Sifu, which you can also check out if you've missed them.

We also have a Dino Crisis 2 Let's Play on the go. I really wanted to wrap this up this month but there's been some construction going on nearby where I am. It means it's kind of hard to record off the cuff stuff at the moment, which has included streaming. Hopefully they'll be more content like this in April.

It's been nice focusing purely on the major content for a bit though. It's been good for really pushing ahead with The Silent Hill 3 Analysis.

I'm happy to report I've already recorded a slow methodical playthrough of the game but will probably be recording another to experiment in a few places and catch a few extra details.

I'm also half way into my first draft of the script, which is already longer than the Resi 0 video. I can't say if it will be as long as the Silent Hill 2 video but it's probably gonna be close.

With these SH videos I let loose a little more and get pretty indulgent which is fun to do. That said I still try and focus my attention on things I think haven't been discussed.

When making these SH videos I want to focus the analysis on the contents of the game, as I think sometimes the search the meaning via external materials and interviews can start to get away from people. That's not to say I don't do any research or have seen no behind the scenes content but if something is being said outside of the game that I don't think is reflected by the work itself then usually I discard it. I think the games should stand on their own and what's great about them is that for the most part they do.

In terms of future Insider videos, there's a few new releases I want to play. Strangers of Paradise, Ghostwire and Elden Ring are probably at the top of my list. At the moment before trying Elden Ring though I've been catching up with Sekiro and I have to say I'm finding it absolutely epic. It's some badass heart-pounding hardcore action and I feel bad it's taken me so long to give it my full attention.

Legend backers will also be able to vote for which 4 videos get made next. Perhaps in the next couple days, since I like to know before my current video is finished what I'll be making straight afterwards.

I think that's it for right now. I've been trying to further finetune my process the last month so hopefully that will pay off with quicker video releases. I feel like it helped me not let the Resi 0 video get away from me and efficient work will be key to getting this long SH3 video out in a timely fashion. I'll catch you back here soon.
