I've got a great line up of interesting spell ideas to be released this month, starting with Phantom Blade, an eerie weapon spell with a thematic material component, a powerful upside to ignore shields and cover, and a fear debuff!

This spell is also easy to turn into a magic item should you wish to give it to your fighter, rogue swashbuckler, or whoever!

I chose not to make this spell concentration since it is intended purely for melee use, unlike the Shadow Blade spell, which can be thrown. However, I did add a clause that you can only have one phantom blade at a time, since dual wielding these would be a bit broken!

Great question! Yes, it can, since the weapon you conjure counts as a weapon for all intents and purposes :) I looked it up just to double check, that is also true with the existing Shadow Blade spell... Edit: Actually I was incorrect, if we are going strictly RAW. Those spells require a weapon that costs at least 1 gp, and this weapon technically costs nothing. But you could ignore that if you want!
