5 New Cleric Cantrips - Early Access Bundle (Patreon)

After the recent discussion regarding the Cleric's extremely low number of cantrip options, I got to work.

Spiritual Strike (the spiritual weapon themed cantrip) was released for free, but I wanted to give the rest of these as a gift to my early access friends!

Soulsteel - The cleric's version of Shillelagh. Since Cleric is already a more melee focused class, it is significantly stronger just due to the context. So I didn't include a damage die change in the spell, but I did add the glowing effect for some extra benefit and flavor.

Denounce - A really powerful cantrip for setting up a big debuff or status effect against the boss, from a teammate or yourself. The fact that you can hand pick the debuff type adds a lot to the control you have with this one, but by trading an action it never feels too strong.

Priestly Blessing, an interesting alternative to Guidance. A +1 to rolls of a certain kind isn't anything extreme, but it's pretty decent in combat.

Angelic Guardian is a tricky one. Defensive cantrips are hard to get right (see Blade Ward) because you dont want to trade an action for something that isn't proactive in most cases. However, in this case the ability to target someone besides yourself is what makes this really decent. There are many situations where you don't have an effective way to be proactive, but someone else might, so using this spell is a way to salvage value out of those turns and sure up a key player in a fight.

Lastly, Dogmatic Rites is another defensive cantrip that isn't going to be something you spam every turn like a sacred flame or toll the bells. However, situationally it is extremely good, and the benefits gained when you have other casters nearby who have the spell are thematic and useful, so it's one to build the party around if you feel inclined!
