There is a major difference between the people who put an hour long video on while they fold laundry, and people that hate watch someone to post clips on reddit. There is certainly a value to having people cover shitty things that people have done. I think Piratesoftware seems like an arrogant annoying dickhead, but he absolutely has gotten an inordinate amount of hate for what hes done. Way worse people have done way worse things, and gotten 1/100th of the attention for it.

What Aiden was talking about with people online is something I have been trying to reconcile for a long time. I am in school to become a therapist, and because of that, I keep telling myself that people are inherently good and can change, but when I see how some people act or talk online, it is so hard to keep believing that. Some people are so hateful and mean when behind a screen, and all I can ever think is “how many people in real life want to act like this but do not because of social consequences”. I am still working through these kinds of thoughts; it is nice to hear about someone else experiencing similar thoughts.
