The car was searched for heroine not alcohol and it was in the middle of the night days after the initial encounter. I ended up learning about the Reckless Ben Mckamey manor series like a few days before the first lego video came out. Those videos are very similar with Ben's antics/grey area legal loopholes. Also similar in that the person he was harrasing in those was also incredibly evil. Seems like his niche is harrasing the worst of society and while I know vigilante justice isnt great, it is very entertaining

Please go watch the Reckless Ben and Legal Eagle on this because Ludwig misses soooooooo many small things that paint Ben worse than he actually is. Yes he is being a loose canon but u can’t omit/make stuff up and tell it wrong. Completely wrong about not doing a civil suit which they won but can’t collect cuz the store shutdown and ran away. Also don’t go over that he is sitting outside his home to serve him court papers which he filed legally and the court forces u to “serve” them b4 the case can even make it to court.

I believe Slime has it the wrong way round @ 38:15 Re: Jobst vs Mitchell. Mitchell Sued Jobst under the pretense of defamation alleging that Jobst had claimed Mitchell had directly contributed to the suicide of Apollo Legend. In the end, neither gained a significant ammount of money at the end of the lawsuit. Mitchell expected a massive roi through the lawsuit but because of the laws in place he did not end up paying Mitchell much, if anything. Jobst did plan on challenging the verdict the judge came to, but ultimately decided agaisnt it as technically, he had suggested that Mitchell was a contributor to the death of Apollo Legend. I would not trust my memory; Karl Jobst has an excellent video detailing how and why he lost. I would reccomend watching as it kind of shows how much Karl is kinda the underdog still in the video-game journalism scene, and helped me re-gain confidence and respect for him especially after cross refferencing his cited sources.

I really think y'all discount to quickly the possibility of a lot of the corruption steming from the fact that they side with each other cause they're Mormon. Like you called it a conspiracy as if that isn't something lots of religious people famously do no matter the moral issue. If people do it for pedophilia, they'll do it for legos. Wow Ludwig left out some of the best stuff on the Reckless Ben shit, I know more has happened since filming, like the 2 villains being fired. Also the lawyer video Ludwig watched painted Ben pretty badly and was too fair on the cops whereas Legal Eagle is a bit more hopeful. As ludwig said in his main channel, Reckless Ben is kinda genius for being so crazy, the more attention his youtube vid gets the mores eyes see the core fact that a poor old man and son got swindled and the public opinion comes into play.

35:11 The Karl Jobst lawsuit was so interesting, because he basically lied to his YouTube audience. On YouTube, Karl kept implying that the lawsuit was Billy Mitchell suing for defamation because Karl exposed how much Billy cheated in gaming. He kept using all those words whenever he talked about the case. Jobst eventually announces that he lost the lawsuit, but it wasn't it was never a defamation case, Jobst was claiming Mitchell was a big/main reason why a speedrunner, Apollo Legend, committed suicide. Here is a quote of the aftermath from the Karl Jobst Discord directly from him: 03/03/2025 "Ok so here is what is interesting We fed all the court transcripts in AI It said that there is no scenario where I lose lol It said even if billy wins the damages will be nominal and he will have to pay my costs"

On top of Ludwig hallucinating most of the facts from the second video, Reckless Ben has already addressed the blur thing and from what he said it didn't have anything to do with some sort of 'defensive use of blur to keep the video up'. The full post is on Ben's patreon and has been reposted on Reddit but basically it was a YouTube censorship feature that messed up, which Ben can't take down without access to a YouTube rep? Then again i guess he could be lying but I don't think that's the case
