I feel like this doesn't mean your a bad order for yourself necessarily, like obviously as you stated the options you ended up with are meh, but of what was in the menu that you could have ordered for yourself they could land on the better half of what you could have even ordered thus making it a "good" ordered for yourself.

Aiden's letterboxd scale take is on brand and he's not wrong that people's rating scales are warped but if anyone has an actual normal distribution for movies ratings, they're just terrible at picking movies to watch. Him only having 4 5 stars (and 19 4.5 stars) out of 340 logged movies is also a bad distribution imo

As someone with both a peanut allergy and gluten intolerance, it definitely lowers the item pool. You can still be a great orderer for yourself but its arguably baby mode since there’s only so many options, and its a hard barrier to overcome when ordering for others

I think saying normal distribution = terrible movie picks doesn’t add up. I don’t pick only good movies to watch, I just pick movies to watch, and then have an opinion after if it’s good, mid, or bad. I think I have a relatively normal distribution, but I watch a good amount of movies a year so I think at a point it balances out. Most movies land at about a 3-3.5 for me.

As someone who is a server at a movie theater its cringe! I am not in the mood to see socks/feet at work. Now a crime? Almost but no. He did put them in the middle of the seats so people wouldnt trip over them and thats the difference maker. You'd be surprised how many people leave shoes/purses in the way of my feet.

I think in terms of having a food allergy it can be eye opening because they can’t have certain things so they have alternatives or insight into other options that yourself wouldn’t choose because you can have those certain things. People love almond and oat milk, but we are less likely to even have oat milk if everyone could just drink normal milk, because we wouldn’t need alternatives

Fine dining server for over 8 years now, Nick is bronze elo for ordering, I know its a bit but a couple tips if you're ordering for the table. 1. Figure out if you're doing individual or family style before you get over there. 2. It is completely normal to ask for recommendations, but try to do it during the opening so you have time to think about your choices. 3. If you are going to be the orderer for the table, be prepared to pay for the whole thing or at least know you're splitting evenly beforehand. Any other questions you can ask me though

As someone with Celiac's I am a fantastic orderer and I would in fact go for my gluten free dish, maybe a neutral gluten free shareable app and then gluten filled options for the table. Now, if we have options that are bangers and are gluten free naturally or maybe a light substitution can make it work than there's no reason to not have gluten free for some sharesies. That being said I have gotten sick many times in my life from feeling bad asking for a clarification on an order and getting something that was gluten in it so what the fuck do I know.

So I have a long list of food allergies, and I’m a good order for other people, but not for myself. Most food I’ve never tried, but I understand how to cook and The wants that people have when they go to a restaurant. I don’t think I could be a great orderer in most places, but I can say for certain I am an All-Star table orderer in sushi, Thai, and Chinese food. Assuming the restaurant is visited multiple times, one should start off as Zipper 3 and learning the value various dishes prior to locking in the hall of famers and circulating through these. Nick Dropped the fucking ball with that order. I would, obvioulsly, have the bruchetta (for some freshness and sourness) and the seafood platter (for salty freaks who enjoy eating ocean bugs) also you will somehow also get free bread with dips because you are in an italian restaurant. So that's the appetizers done. Then for the mains I'd go for the osso bucco (a very lovely, traditional and tender dish) the aglio e olio (to statisfy the novice eaters who can't handle any taste) the mushroom risotto (even though I detest mushrooms) and the bolognese (to ascertain the general quality of the rastaurant ). For dessert just tiramisu and cannelloni, so we have something for the smooth and crunchy people. And the rest of th groups desires can be met by their individual drink choices.

You’re asking the waiter to sell you the most expensive shit because that’s where the money comes from, and also the vast majority of the time the people who ask this question go “oh I don’t like x thing about this” and then order something else entirely. I think the only 0.5 star review I’d ever give to a movie would be Star Wars: the rise of skywalker. What a genuine misunderstanding of what a movie is and what scriptwriting is. I wouldn’t even call it a movie, it’s like a picture book that you point at and go “oh wow!” And that’s it. I’m a life long Star Wars fan so that one also made me dislike Disney Star Wars forever lmao. Andor is basically the only good thing to come out of that slop corp.
