An ex-girlfriend of mine used to be emetophobic (fear of throwing up) and I used to have to pre watch things so they didn’t show scenes of people throwing up. About engaged views, it's even less than actually watching 30 seconds. It just means they actually clicked on the video and you were there long enough to know it's not an "accidental click." Even getting through the pre roll to see the first frame of the video is considered engaged.
