So, I'm going to open this up to everyone, but I'd really like to hear from those who have been subbed for a while and have experienced a lot of my content.

So, the background. I've been doing a lot of thinking about my work and how I structure stories, and I've really put pressure on myself to do things that are original or have twists that are surprising or, at the very least, interesting.

(Honestly, it leads to a lot of procrastination where I wonder if the idea is actually any good or I just get lost and confused with so many idea's, the story is messy)

Whether I've actually been able to make stories that are unique and have surprising twists is another question, but what I'd like to know (from you, the readers of my content) is: what is it you prefer in my work?

Do you prefer stories that twist and turn, do the unexpected, and leave you curious

Do you prefer simple stories with simple wholesome meanings?

Let me know.

I know it is not that useful to you, but I like both your suggestions. As I have read (and conceived) many TG stories, I do prefer stories with unexpected twits, etc. Especially when concepts from different types of TG stories are combined. On the other hand I also like stories that are realistic - that is if the world was just a little bit more TG friendly they would be possible. If magic (or a technical equivalent) is involved it needs to be consistent, allowing me to put the hints together and end up with something close to what you end up with. Short predictable stories with happy ends are nice to have, as they can quickly brighten up my day. I thrive on happiness, so stories that end in doom and gloom is no longer that appealing to me, all I need to do is read some news articles.

Bo...whats been your fav story finished or unfinished so far?

Michael Scott

Both are good. I know a Twinkie will always taste like a Twinkie but sometimes I crave one anyways.

It may not be for everyone, but I actually like the stories which have a more conflictive element, that are less fairytale perfect.

I agree with this 100% but in your opinion, is the drama better when its simple or multi layered?

Bo Ea

This is even harder for me to answer, as you have delivered so many good stories. As I mentioned I thrive on happiness, so I,ll give you a short list sorted by those that gave me the most. Remember that I had to hide myself for half a century, so I have a tendency of choosing stories that I would have loved happening to me early on. It may surprise you but the 2025 Christmas special is the story that hit me most, but closely followed by Tamara, Kai, Melody and the flower girl. Also the commissioned story is just the start of something, so I’m currently writing a continuation to it. That does not mean that I do not enjoy most of your other stories, that speak to other aspects that made me reflect on episodes in my past, but you did ask for what I enjoyed most 😊 Drama is fine, but I would prefer stories ending with a state that is better than at the start of the story.

It may be shorter, but I think the New Molly comic might be my favorite.

Reality is almost always multilayered, so I'd say this is better, provided it doesn't overwhelm the reader with too many threads, leading to confusion.

I my self do tend to prefer storied with a twist but I like simple straight forwards for shorter stories. I hope this helps

I have been reading here and on deviantart on and off for almost 18 years now and relatability and strong emotional moments that make you just want to cross that dimension and give them or even just everyone a hug... that is my weakness is good stories, at the same time I do not shy away from darker/deeper ones involving loss of a close one.

As others have commented, good stories do need some drama and emotion to draw us in. Fated couples who fumble their first meeting, get together, make mistakes, fall out, but still find their way to their happy ending. And all your best stories do just that! Events don’t need to be extraordinary and completely take us by surprise. The twists and turns need to feel believable and driven by the characters and their situation. Not by some god appearing on a crane and randomly disrupting or resolving things. That’s where things can get confused and messy. Again, all your best stories do just that. Keep going. We’re here because we love your stories.
