Pinch Grip False Display Counts (Practice) (Patreon)

There are many Pinch Grip False Display Counts in existence, and in this video we'll cover the most important ones: The True Count, The Elmsley Count, The Jordan Count, and the Four-as-Five count. We'll also go over some important variations along with the typical considerations (rhythm, speed, angles, etc.). These counts aren't useful by themselves per se, but rather useful in the context of small packet tricks (tricks which use just a small packet of cards, often four cards) that require repeated counts and displays. Their critical utility will become clear as we get to tricks that use them -- for now, just practice them and your hard work will pay off later.
PRACTICE DRILLS:
Begin with a packet of four cards face down in left hand dealing position. The third card from the top is face up. Transfer the cards to right hand pinch grip, justifying this motion by making a gesture with the left hand. Perform an Elmsley count, hiding the third card from the top. Then, transfer the packet back to right hand pinch grip in the same manner, then perform a Jordan Count, hiding the bottom card.
This drill can also be done with a packet of five cards (which will be displayed as four) -- for this variation of the drill, the third and fourth cards from the top should be face up before starting the Elmsley count.
