Don’t know if you remember from season 1 but the donut eating race is actually a spoiler for the Arima Kinen as super creek got disqualified and Oguri barely beat Tama

KHQA

9:05 we actually had a similat situation in the game where Rudolf formed an Avengers of all the 7 crowns Uma to jump Almond Eye lol

Details for episode 21 ------------------------------------ Belno’s running distance 4:54 Twin Bee exclusively ran between 1400m to 1600m races with the exception of her first two, which were 800m. She actually had 10 wins out of 45 races, in addition to 11 second places and 3 third place finishes. As such, she placed within the top 3 around 46.6% of the time. ------------------------------------ Tama’s demeanor leading up to the race. Tama is shown to be abnormally calm and composed leading up to the race when she’s in the stands with Komiyama, which is a reference to how the real horse was leading up to the race. ------------------------------------ Rudolf’s “Take it easy” 10:33 The reason that this phrase is in English is because Rudolf’s jockey, Okabe, learned the phrase from McCarron, Pay the Butler’s jockey. When they became friends, they had difficulty communicating due to the language barrier. This phrase was one that Okabe learned. As for why Rudolf saw Oguri off before the race, Okabe was chosen as Oguri’s jockey for this race. ------------------------------------ Chiyono’s other wins 12:19 Chiyono O’s other major wins up to this point include the Yayoi Sho and the Futurity Stakes ------------------------------------ Dicta hitting the gate In real life, Soccer Boy got a bloody nose. While this might not sound too bad, this is actually extremely serious for horses as they only breathe through their noses. He basically had to run the whole race while struggling to even breathe. ------------------------------------ Tamamo starting her spurt early In real life, Tamamo was known for doing his own thing and ignoring the general flow of the race. Starting a spurt early like this takes a lot of stamina as it requires the horse to maintain high speeds for a long time. Details for episode 22 ----------------------------- Creek interference As you guessed, Take did in fact do this. He did it again during McQueen’s Fall Tenno Sho, disqualifying him. ----------------------------- Oguri and Tama meeting as children 39:45 To be fair, this is also based on real life. Apparently, one of the farms that Nishikino tried to sell Tamamo to was the same one that Oguri was living on. As such, it is possible that they could have lived together under different circumstances. ----------------------------- A New Era 43:17 This statement has a double meaning, as Japan would shift from the Showa era to the Heisei era in just 2 weeks. December 25th was also the anniversary of the start of the Showa era. Tamamo Cross was apparently said to be the last great horse of the Showa era and the bridge between the two eras, with the Heisei big 3 being like his successors. ----------------------------- Dicta’s tooth Soccer Boy did indeed break a tooth in addition to the nosebleed. ----------------------------- Take and Creek Creek was not Take’s first horse, but he was the first to win a G1 with him and the one he considers to have had the greatest impact on him. Details for episode 23 ----------------------------- Inari One Inari is actually from the same generation as Tamamo, so she is older than Oguri. ----------------------------- Tokyo Daishoten subtitle mistake The subs say that the race is 2000m for some reason. My guess is that the subtitlers assumed that the anime made a mistake, but the race was indeed 3000m in the past. ----------------------------- Inari and the zone Just to clarify, the barrier only cracked instead of shattering. It’s kind of like how Oguri managed to get some black aura in the Japan Cup but couldn’t quite break through, or how Tama already had lightning coming off of her before she broke into the zone. ----------------------------- Tokyo Daishoten Grade The Tokyo Daishoten only became a G1 race in 2011, so it was not a G1 back then. It was still a major regional race though, which is why they are wearing their special outfits. It is similar to how March wore an outfit for her race even though it was not a G1. ----------------------------- How much is left Season 1 covered around 40% of the manga, so there is enough left for maybe 34-35 episodes assuming that they keep the same chapter to episode ratio.

Out of all the horses the one I want the most for the next anime main character is Stay Gold. It's perfect actually since she was in the races we have seen in the anime (from Silence Suzuka races to Golden Gen, Opera domination era and Pokke's Japan Cup) they don't even have to fully adapt all of em just call back and turn them to a compelling narrative that lead to her final race would be fire enough . Stay Gold story would be the perfect ending for the 90s-2001 era that lead up to the begining of the 2010s horse racing renaissance where the Gold Family enter and set the nation on fire
