Sketchbook 26.04.12 (Patreon)

Got some good sketching in this week, though TBH this was all done in the last 24 hours. Not a great week for drawing but made up for it this weekend (when I should have been doing yard work, but whatever). For a change let’s take a closer look this week.

“Party Girl:” While trying to decompress after a stressful week at a state park I saw a young woman dressed to the nines oddly enough. That and another dress I saw online prompted me to try my hand at a more contemporary lady, instead of the usual mid century modern ingenue, girl next door, buttoned down professional, or flat out princesses I usually do.

“Werefiend:” I’ve never done a completed illustration of Sandy Starling’s ancestor’s beast form, and with Haunted Hospital 1962 gaining steam again I need to nail that down so I know where I’m going! Obviously she bears some resemblance to WereFang, but there’ll be some difference in her markings and coloration, I think. Finishing this is a priority for this week. In the meantime, part five is in the can and will go live at 12:00 am EDT/GMT-4 tonight!

“Jessie:” Jessica Daniels is an environmental attorney by day and a radical eco-activist by night. But when things get too intense she becomes something more… because of course she does.

“Yeti”: I actually have two ideas for what Jessie becomes when she’s pushed too far, and this is one. This character actually goes back in some form to when I was young and the Yeti is inspired by the original concept (Jessie was a scientist back then.) The one drawing of the other form I did I lost but I may try to reconstruct it this week in the sketchbook.

“Bobbi’s Back:” I try to throw at least something TF related in these sketchbooks because well, that’s why most (if not all) of you are here. Other than that, not much to say here.

“Solaria:” A few years back I was inspired by the character Starlight from the Amazon series The Boys to design a character with the same feel. I liked the costume a lot but realized I had another character going way back named Solaria who might fill the same role. I tried adapting the costume once and accidentally deleted the whole thing. This weekend I took another swing at it. I’d like to clean this up this week as there are a few other tweaks I’d like to make that I don’t want to forget.

So for this week, other than the cleanups I mentioned above, I do have a commission to start and a color TF I’m trying to finish. We’ll see how I do. Enjoy!
