Heat Up Leftovers

This mod adds an interaction to fridges & food which lets you heat up leftovers in the microwave.

How this Mod works:

When a microwave is on the lot you will see new interactions on the fridge and food which can be used by Children or older Sims. Using the "Heat Up Leftovers & Eat" or "Heat Up & Eat" interactions will start a chain reaction. The Sim will grab a serving or take the food, search for the microwave, go to the microwave to use it*, and then take the food to eat.

After reheating the leftovers Sims will get one of various buffs. Cakes & Pizza can get a Cake/Pizza related buff sometimes.

The interactions are allowed to be used autonomously by Sims, but there is no 100% guarantee that they will use it when auto solving hunger etc.

To prevent the interaction on food from showing up right after cooking, I added a check to see if the food is in the fridge or if at least 25 minutes have passed since it was cooked.

*I was struggling a lot to get the actual put in/get out animations for the microwave to work, so I had to scratch that and instead made a "pretend to really use the microwave" interaction. The food will be hidden in the sim inventory and the sim will do a use microwave animation, but the food will not be visible in the microwave, unfortunately.

So far no, this adds new interactions to the fridge because of how it works in general.

I will check if I can make them compatible the other way around, so when you have the Choose Leftover Pie Menu installed that it will also turn the Heat Up Leftovers Menu into a Pie Menu Version.

Hi LittleMsSam, I just want to say I love your work, and when I first saw this mod, I was amazed at how such a simple idea could be a game changer. Thank you for that! I was hoping you could help me with an issue I ran into. I get the following error: Exception during call to test method on (TypeError: 'NoneType' object is not iterable), CategoryID: picker_interaction:2763. It might be because I’m using the Bake It Up Stand Mixer & Cookbook - Home Chef Hustle SP addon by myshunosun? I’m just trying to figure out the reason, even though I’m completely clueless about modding. Maybe the cookbook doesn’t have its own interaction tuning? I’ll need to test it. Thanks again!

I downloaded this from curseforge, but the option when clicking on the refrigerator went away to heat up leftovers, I have to open the fridge and click on the specific leftover to see the option. I'm not sure if this is a glitch or how it was supposed to be...because when I first downloaded the mod it showed on the refridgerator heatup leftover

If you get the error when you do one of my interactions, you could test once without any other mod/cc except XML Injector to see if you have a conflict going on. Be careful when you test like this while Auto Save is enabled. I recommend to do a new testsave in such cases. If you still get an error then I would like to know the actual steps to be able to reproduce it in-game. In general it would always be helpful when you upload the actual error file in my discord, since the full error has usally much more infos than just this small part.

Hello LittleMs Sam - thank you for making such amazing gameplaying mods. I think I have almost everything you have made :D I have just got this heatup letovers mod and for some reason when my sim gets the food out of the fridge they just put it down and dont add it to the microwave. Is there any known issue you know that could be causing this? Could it be a conflict with another mod I have? Thank you!

They don't really put it into them, but they pretend to go there and use them. It sounds like that part where they either find or route to them fails. Did you try to put the microwave into a different spot to see if they can route there then? If not, try that first please.
