You should make it that our vote still counts if we change. It looks like if we switch because our pick has no chance of winning, our vote doesn't count. Im picking the one I like the most that has a chance to win. I didn't know my pick had pretty much no chance of winning. My vote gets wasted.

idk how patreon adds them or displays them, but they are counted, its just that there are just a lot of votes total in the top choices. But I also take a look at runners up when Im deciding on future polls, so it's something I keep track of to bring back characters that almost made it.

You are missing what Seth is saying. He is saying that as the vote gets close to ending, he switches his vote to ones that actually have a chance to win even though they aren't his most preferred option. Because you refuse to enable multichoice voting when prompted about it previously, this means you aren't actually getting an accurate picture of what is popular as instead most like Seth here change their vote to what managed to get an initial lead rather than keeping it on what they most wanted. This is bad because you use the "runner ups" like you said to determine options in future polls. When a person changes their vote, Patreon removes their vote from the previous one and adds it to their new voting option unless you allow multivoting. Literally no voting system on any platform running a First Past The Post voting system as you are now keeps records of what every single individual voted for prior to them changing their vote to a new option within the same poll. That would be too messy to code, and even worse to record.

I took his comment at face value and put it to the test myself. When i voted for a smaller option, it went from 8 to 9 percent. But when I changed the vote to a more popular pick, it remained at 28%. Which is what I then interpreted his "It looks like if we switch because our pick has no chance of winning, our vote doesn't count." to mean. I never meant to suggest that there was some 'prior voting count' system. I've explained my problems with multi voting before, plenty of other's votes show that not everyone plays the early lead bandwagon. They make their voices heard without jumping ship. Popular characters with a larger fan base will end up with an advantage despite all that though. Look at this poll, Loona started off with a great 30 to 20 lead and after the long night she's been overtaken. They didn't falter, they didn't blink, and they rallied by showing their guts for their pick even against the ODDS. You're putting too much faith in the early lead, those with diamond hands that stick to their gut win. Communism isnt the answer D:< /s
