It's always a delight to watch movies with you, Kate. :)

Man, I miss the days when every single MCU movie that came out in theaters gave me goose bumps, made me fist pump the air, and left me with a giant grin on my face as I left the theatre. Captain Marvel gave me all that, and then some. I first saw Brie Larson in a movie called Hoot (2006). She was a teenager in that movie, but her performance was that of a seasoned pro. I was impressed. So when I heard that she would be playing Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, I was stoked! And she didn’t disappoint….her acting range was on full display here, and she added some impressive comedic flair that I hadn’t seen before. Did you notice how oddly bubbly Nick Fury was in this movie? Especially in the scenes with Goose, when he broke out the baby talk. It’s still off putting to me, especially since in every other MCU movie that he’s in he’s so stoic and unemotional. Makes you wonder what kind of shit he saw from the end of this movie to the post credit of Iron Man, when he was first introduced to the MCU. I want to see a movie about that. Obviously you noticed the homage to Stan Lee in the open of the movie. Sadly, he passed away just before this movie was released. So the studio changed the typical opening montage of MCU heroes to one dedicated to Stan Lee. A wonderful tribute to the man responsible for this amazing universe. In the beginning of the movie, when Yon Rogg is lecturing Veers, and he says “Stop using this (points to her heart) and start using this (points to her head), it reminds me of what Uncle Argyle says to young William Wallace in Braveheart after his father is killed. “First, learn to use this (points to his head), then…I’ll teach you to use this (and lifts a sword).” Oh, and I believe the X-Men character you were trying to think of when Captain Marvel’s eyes glowed is Cyclops. Another amazing mid credits scene reminding of how dire life had become after The Snap. Mother Flerkin!! I can’t wait for you to watch Endgame!!

When you get to Endgame, make sure you watch the end credits.
