I’ll have to check this out when I get home. I know it has nothing to do with my favorite Eagles Album by the same name. The description seems very interesting.

I’m away for the weekend on a business trip, but I’m Desperados to get back home tomorrow to check out this movie for the first time with you. I hope seeing Antonio Banderas in this movie whets your appetite to see him in The Mask of Zorro with Anthony Hopkins and the beautiful Catherine Zeta-Jones 😍

Love this movie, one of Spains top male actor known for the rolls in Pedro Almodovar films. Salma the number one female star in Mexico becoming popular from telenovellas. I always am surprised that Salma is not Mexican. Her family is Lebanese who immigrated to Mexico. Tarantino has the ability to find the perfect music to play an extra character in his films. Perhaps one of many things I appreciate in his films. Also the Bartender is one half of the famous comedy duo Cheech and Chong. Who blaze with their counter culture humor in 1969. Rodriguez had made this film as a low budget masterpiece called El Mariachi . I love that Tarantino respected this creator so much that he gave him a key roll as the writer, producer and director of this movie. Such a fun movie for a Sunday afternoon. Muchas Gracias Kate por la pelicula con rico. Rick C.

Well, that was fun. Actually, I like your word for describing this movie…spicy! A western with some Latin sabor! Lots of action, lots of stylized violence, and some humor sprinkled in. But my favorite scene had none of that…it was Salma Hayek singing “Quedate Aqui”….Stay Here. “Stay here in my arms Stay here for me Don’t tell me you love me Just tell me your staying A life with me.” To me, this is Carolina’s plea to El Mariachi to give up on his quest for revenge, and begin a new life with her. And even though El Mariachi is laser focused on the henchmen about to ambush them, I think he hears her plea. And I believe that when El Mariachi finally says thank you to Carolina at the end, it wasn’t for her taking the bullet out of his arm and stitching him up, or for tending to the knife wounds he got from Navajas. It was for sending him that message in a song, for coming after him after he left her and validating that she wanted to be with him. And for giving him a chance at a somewhat normal life. Well, maybe not what you or I might consider normal…he did go back to get his guitar case after symbolically tossing it away.
