Final Part: How The World Works

After many events together, a passionate night and a happy time together from now on will be the best ending for the couple full of problems Haniya - Harrison. Haniya thinks so! Harrison thinks so! I think so! And maybe you think so, too. But...

The world always works the way it wants. It will not care about anyone's circumstances, pain or happiness. Historically, there have probably been many instances where criminals didn't pay for their actions, but you should remember, for the most part, things happened the other way around. I always thought that every crime would be punished, one way or another.

The mad scientist Hale Hill was no longer the same as before. He had changed completely in a way he didn't even realize. From a criminal who is considered by the government to be the most dangerous potential, he has become a cute wife who just wants to spend every happy day with his husband, the same person he used to hate the most, who threw him behind the prison's bars, Harrison Ning.

This change is not entirely positive, because in exchange, one person has to completely disappear from the world. Who is that? That is Haniya, Harrison's real wife, who has now been robbed of her appearance (and memory) by Hale. Or that person is Hale, who has taken away both Haniya's appearance and memory, but because of that, he is no longer himself.

However, if we put this on an immaterial balance, I believe it will lean more towards "positive" than "negative". The evidence is that, at the moment, all the insiders are enjoying the happiest days. But, is that really so?

It has been almost a year since Harrison and "Haniya" confirmed their feelings for each other. That means, the time that Harrison lives with "Haniya" is more than the time that he lives with Haniya. That should be enough time for everyone to accept the truth. On that fateful night, the two of them did once again the most natural thing in a person's life. For the first time since the day everything changed, they felt the warmth of each other, although before that, they had slept together every night.

And so, every day passed like a beautiful dream. Their house is no longer lonely, the awkward feeling is no longer there, every day Harrison comes home with a happy mind and looks forward, no matter how tired he is that day. Haniya's face is fresh again, there are no more absent-minded and distracted times at the company.

As a busy policeman, Harrison knows he can't spend much time with his wife. Therefore, he always cherishes every moment with Haniya. Just the usual meals, Harrison also enjoyed them as if he could no longer eat them tomorrow. Every morning, Harrison also wakes up earlier to have breakfast with his wife, something that even when that person was Haniya before, Harrison had never experienced it. Feeling not enough, every time watching his wife focus on preparing dishes in the kitchen with every drop of sweat rolling on her forehead, Harrison could not resist but walked to hug Hainya from behind. Harrison did it countless times, but every time Haniya was surprised, and then, a warm smile appeared on the corner of her mouth.

Harrison always spends his rare holidays with his wife. He took her to the mall to shop for clothes. Harrison realized, since the day everything changed, Haniya has become more and more fond of feminine outfits. This is also strange, isn't it… because before that, "Haniya" of now never even wore a woman's outfit. However, Harrison doesn't care! What he cares about is his wife's smile.

One morning, Haniya woke up in an uncomfortable mood. Her body felt very malaise. Harrison offered to take a leave of absence to be by her side to take care of her, but she refused. "It's okay, who doesn't get sick sometimes!" - Haniya's smile when she said those words helped Harrison calm down somewhat. However, he still advised her carefully and even invited a retired female doctor whom he knew on a mission to examine Hainya.

"My husband and I are annoying you!" - Hainya tried to smile while talking to the doctor. She is still examining Haniya. After a moment, the doctor closed her eyes and said with a calm expression: "There's no need to worry! You're not sick! This is a normal reaction… that any mother would have to go through!"

Hearing that, Hainya happily asked: "I'm pregnant?!" The doctor said: "Yes! I'll prepare medicine and a note for you! At this stage, things aren't that worrying, so…" Hainya cheerfully interrupted: "Yes, I understand! I can manage on my own! I've been bothering you for quite a while!" The doctor said: "Thank you! I'd love to be with you too, but even in retirement, I've got a lot of outpatients waiting!"

After receiving the medicine and notes, Haniya waved to the respected old doctor. Her joy overcame her discomfort. A little baby is about to be born! That baby carried within her and Harrison's blood. She believes that nothing in the world can hinder her happiness when she is about to become a mother!

Well, things didn't go as expected! Once again, the world works in a cruel way with those who have committed sins that disturb the balance of life. A hindrance to her happiness appeared, like an apostle that the world sent to punish her!

Haniya's body and mind are very weak. Those are the ideal conditions for the appearance of someone no one wants to see, mad scientist Hale Hill. Rather, this is a very small part of the memory that is not fully synchronized with the memory of Hainya. Although small, the fact that "he" still exists, crept into a hidden corner and is now rising up.

Haniya is washing her face after vomiting. When she raised her face to the mirror, Haniya panicked and took a few steps backward to almost fall, because… the face in the mirror was not her face! She knows him, this is mad scientist Hale Hill, her husband's enemy! Why did he show up here?! Of course, everything is just happening inside Haniya's mind.

Haniya shouted: "You are Hale Hill, why are you here?!" Hale sneered: "You ask me why? Because I am you!" Haniya shook her head in fear: "No, no! I'm not you. I'm Hainya Bell, Harrison's wife!" Hale laughed again like a madman: "Hahaha! Wife?! I didn't expect you to come out like this! Be sober again! You are just mistaking yourself as Haniya! You're me, Hale Hill! We are the ones who took the body of this lady Hainya Bell! No matter how much you deny it, we are the same people who have done cruel things in the past and also the same people who took the life of Harrison Ning's wife, your current lover, but forever my enemy!"

Haniya's tears rose, she felt short of breath, she could only make weak voices: "No... no! You're a liar! I..." Hale continued to trample Haniya's pain: "It's only been about a year, why do you forget so quickly?! Remember why we got into this mess, it's because of revenge on Harrison Ning! I can forgive you for forgetting the original purpose of revenge. Anyway, that's due to the unexpected success of our experiment. Hainya held her head, screaming in helplessness. Haniya wished a few minutes ago, she had kept the doctor, instead of seeing her off.

But come to think of it, have we really gone that far for that goal? Our original purpose was to save our mother, but when things went exactly as we expected, another emotion completely overwhelmed the original purpose. You remember what it was?! Well, let me remind you, we have forgotten the true purpose of that experiment because of the stupid reputation of 'Great Scientist with an Unthinkable Invention'. In other words, our first sin is not to create an experiment that terrifies people, but to forget our beloved mother for our own sake!

Even though I hate the bastard Harrison Ning, I have to admit that I admire him, because he's probably the only one who realizes our true sin. He sent us to prison not because of some stupid crime that the people out there attributed to us. He realized, we used our mother to burnish our own reputation!

Yet, we still do not repent when we go to prison, instead, we continue to experiment on those poor prisoners. We erode their spirit slowly and cruelly. This is our second sin.

And our third sin, no, this sin is yours alone! You really took the life of a living person and are happy to live her lifeThat is the biggest sin you have committed against the person you love the most! Well… maybe my time is up, but I believe my purpose… has been accomplished!"

After saying that, Hale disappeared like a smoke into the air. Hainya was still stunned after hearing each confession. A moment later, she screamed with tears in her eyes: "Mom, I have made a mistake with you! Harrison, I have made a mistake with you! I don't deserve this happiness! He's right, even if my mind keeps denying it, I'm still Hale Hill, not Hainya Bell. I'm just a despicable and unforgivable sinner!"

"I'm back!" - Harrison opened the door with a smile on his face like every other day. But, today, no one responded to him! Realizing that something was wrong, Harrison searched every corner of the house, but could not find his beloved wife anywhere. On the familiar dining table, there were no more attractive dishes, only a handwritten piece of paper. Harrison trembled after reading the scribbled words left by his wife: "Farewell! Thank you for the best days of my life! Forget about me! I won't be jealous if you're happy with another girl!"

The first reaction, Harrison called the doctor. He was even more surprised when he received the news of his wife's pregnancy, but what happened after that?! In his great bewilderment, he conducts a massive manhunt, thanks to his police connections... but it's been almost 20 years, everything is meaningless. Haniya disappeared as if she had never lived in the world…

"Knock knock knock" - Three knocks resounded in the old house that has been around for many years. "Please come in! The door is unlocked." - A voice inside replied. The person who knocked on the door entered the house, it was a young girl who looked like a high school student. As soon as she entered the house, she saw a middle-aged policeman sitting alone at the dining table. He looks much older than his actual age. The girl knew that, because she knew the real age of this old policeman Ning Harrison.

He asked in a lifeless voice: "Who are you? Why are you looking for me? Are you a relative of the victim or the family of the perpetrator in a case I solved?" The girl didn't say anything, she just stood there looking at him. Harrison did not care about her very much, he just let her stand there. Suddenly, the girl dropped all her belongings and rushed towards him, surprising him. She hugged him very tightly!

She cried and said: "Dad! I finally met you!" Harrison frowned and said: "Dad?! Did you mistake me for someone else? You see… I live alone…" The girl sobbed: "I’m… not mistaken! I've been waiting for this moment for a long time. I have always wondered about you, but mom never told me anything about you. It wasn't until before she died that she told me to go find you."

Harrison asked: "Who is your mother" The girl said: "My mother is Haniya Bell, and I'm Ning Noelle!" Harrison exclaimed in surprise: "Your last name is Ning, and your mother is Haniya Bell?!" At this point, a tear fell from Harrison's dry eyes: "Daughter... I can't believe you grew up like this! And your mother..." Saying this, Harrison suddenly fell silent. Now he remembered what his daughter had said: "It wasn't until before she died that she told me to go find you." That means, his wife is gone! Harrison cried like a baby!

After calming down, Harrison asked Noelle: "Why did your mother die?! Where have you and your mother been all this time?" Noelle replied to her father: "I and mom live in a mountainous area far away from here. Life there is pretty hard! Mom raised me alone until adulthood. By the time I finished high school, her mother's weak body couldn't stand it anymore! Mom asked me to give this to you." After saying that, Noelle handed a small letter that was carefully clamped in an envelope.

"I'm sorry for leaving without a goodbye! That day, I remembered everything! I am Hale Hill, not Hainya Bell. It's all just my fantasy! That's why, I have no face to be with you anymore! Although I remembered that I was your enemy, a man in the past... but, my feelings for you are still the same! I still love you the way your wife loves you! My body can't take it anymore, this is another limitation of the ‘skinsuit experiment’, I hid this from you because I wanted to prove the superiority of the experiment. I'm such a fool! I hope you take care of Noelle for me, she carries the blood of... all three of us! Bye bye! If the afterlife is real... I'd love to meet Hainya there, so I can apologize to her properly... but I don't regret loving you!"

After reading the letter, Harrison could not hold back anymore, he hugged Noelle in his arms and cried loudly! He said aloud, with the hope that his voice could reach heaven: "I will take good care of Noelle! Wait for me!" Not knowing if it was an illusion or not, he seemed to see Haniya's smiling face looking at him from the sky. Harrison did not know if she was Haniya, or Hale. But Harrison regardless, he has not cared about it for more than 20 years, and from now on too...

Actually, I struggled quite a bit with the ending of this Series! I wrote down two other endings before coming to the one you're reading, but in the end I think this is the most logical one. So, indeed, this process took quite a while for me!
