No introductions needed. You all know Ian, his love for Virtual Reality, his dedication to cover everything that comes out on the VR modding scene even when his plate is already full with things like the Elder Scrolls Online 10-year anniversary event, so just watch him hit machines over and over where the sun don't shine, and don't forget to like and subscribe <3

As always there are some truly poetic moments in this video, like for instance when he waxes on about Aloy's freckles and sun-reddened cheeks, her beautifully detailed threads, and her... ahem, lovely sack that he apparently yearns to, erm, grab and squish... Okay, maybe implementing the "Closer" camera in the game wasn't such a good idea :-)

Haha just kidding, enjoy some British humor and when you're ready grab the sack, I mean, the game to explore the Forbidden West on your own, in VR!

Great IAN !!!!

rOY gLERUM

Got framegeneration running on A 2080ti play on high settings smooth lol

Brandon(Post Maester)

Kidding? Framegen doesn't work with Luke's mods which makes sense because it is already adding extra frames.

michael didikof

Your mod is amazing. The only thing I'm missing in your mod is snap turning. Smooth turning create motion sicknes for most players and ghosting is more visible.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Gotta build up those VR legs somehow. :) Glad you are enjoying it.

Hello, I noticed in your post that to use REAL VR to play CP 2077 without Steam VR, but when I use Quest 3 for streaming, it automatically opens Steam VR. Even after opening it, the display remains flat without VR effects. Could you please advise me on what to do? I am not fluent in English, so I apologize for any mistakes. PS: My graphics card is 4090. I really want to experience VR, thank you!

Brandon(Post Maester)

Are you using Virtual Desktop? Make sure your OpenXR runtime is set to Oculus in the Oculus PC app and if you are using Virtual Desktop, make sure to choose VDXR in the streamer app instead of auto. If you could put a copy of your RealVR64.log (found in the same game folder as the mod files) file on pastebin and post the link to it here, that would be helpful.

Brandon(Post Maester)

How are you connecting your Quest? Link, Virtual Desktop? What kind of GPU do you have? If you could put a copy of your RealVR64.log file on pastebin and post the link to it here that would be helpful as well.

I wish Luke would do a Fallout 4 mod because Vorpx is crap! (I realise this is will not be on his agenda)

Brandon(Post Maester)

Have you tried any of the Fallout 4 VR collections on Nexus? There are at least a couple good ones with VRIK, better textures and other good stuff.

Darren Stoller

Ive got and played fallout 4 VR a few years ago but due to physical health I cannot anymore. Never played the dlc and cos of Amazon show I fancied playing again in VR but with a gamepad - too it's much fiddling for me in Vorpx. Think I'll just stick to the best... Luke's mods.

One VR conversion I've been hoping years for is Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Perhaps with the 2nd installment coming up this year it's a great time to bring the first to VR Luke? ;)

Brandon(Post Maester)

Ya never know :) I am still hoping for Dark Souls 3 at some point :(

Is there a way for Luke Ross to make a 2D game only mod for first person shooting games. His head movement mouse aiming shooting system is the best when in VR. It would be great to see in 2D games. Of course, we would have to wear the headset for the game without the use of the VR component. And it would probably be easier to make rather than going totally VR/3D route.

Brandon(Post Maester)

I'm sure he could but by the time he gets that kind of control over the game, I am also relatively sure he would much rather just mod it into 3d as well. He also likes modding games that he enjoys being inside of, so that plays a role in his modding choices. There are quite a few fps games in VR already, what games are you thinking about specifically?

JEZZARIAH BURRELL

forbidden west dont work right sinse update..any news out there to resolve issues

Brandon(Post Maester)

I played it fine yesterday, can you put a copy of your RealVR64.log file on pastebin and post the link to it here? I'll take a look.

I am currently using Virtual Desktop (VD) and have also set the Open VR runtime to VDXR. However, when I enter the games, they are not displaying in VR mode. This issue occurs not only with Cyberpunk 2077 but also with ELDEN RING; despite selecting VR mode, the display remains in 2D. Could you please assist me with this?

Kyle N Schuh

I may be the only person to ever ask this and I have a hard time finding anyone discuss this but what would be the difficulty of getting Death Stranding working since it is using the same engine?

Brandon(Post Maester)

I know he has thought about doing that one. It appears to be on the list of possible future games :) I think the decision to do Watch Dogs was mostly because he really enjoyed part 1 and thought the series was very underrated and would be really fun to explore in VR.

Kyle N Schuh

Hey thanks for reaching out. I was just curious if that was ever on the list. I am a big fan of the game and being inside of the DS world would be incredibly cool to me. You guys keep up the good work

Lou Sytsma

Hope that Days Gone gets consideration for Luke's treatment.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Honestly, seems unlikely but ya never know :) It is a bummer that it doesn't work with UEVR.

Twelvetoedtom

Just wanted to say thanks for making this Mod I truly struggled to get into the game flat but with your mod ran right through not only the game but the burning shores as well. Thanks so much for the dedication to the craft.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Glad you enjoyed it! I really enjoyed it even flat but yeah VR really helps you get sucked into the world :)

Alexander

Don't get me wrong, this is a neat hobby project (Playing Horizon: Forbidden West). But unfortunately, it is completely unplayable. The camera work and glitchy graphics are unbearable. It is not worth the price of becoming a Patreon member in its current state.

Brandon(Post Maester)

What kind of GPU do you have. A higher end system is going to get you better results but depending on what hardware you have switching rendering modes or turning down graphics settings to raise resolution could improve the experience quite a bit. I would still rather play in Mono rendering mode for instance than play on monitor. Still much more immersive. Just depends on hardware, preferences etc. I played through Cyberpunk the first time using mono on a 3070 and still had a great time. There are also older titles like Far Cry, Dark Souls Remastered and Watch Dogs that are easier to run/push graphically.

Alexander

Trust me, it's not my system... It's the glitchy "depth rendering" that's my issue. Standing still it looks OK. Cyberpunk runs slightly better, yes. But in this game the camera needs to be modified, it's too close, and movement is terrible..

Tom Kim

played Horizon Forbidden West, and found a huge problem: cannot see HUD, so I can't even check HUD at all. I found REAL VR fascinating, but the only problem of not being able to see and check HUD is so much frustrating. How can I solve this problem on HUD, playing Horizon Forbidden West?

Brandon(Post Maester)

You can pick between 3 different camera positions in the Real overlay (HFW tab) it defaults to closer cam but you can switch to the games default cam as well. Have you tried switching to Legacy rendering mode? It has less overhead so you can push the ppd higher. It does come with motion jitter when things are moving sideways or past you.

Alexander

I will give that a go. Thank you

Brandon(Post Maester)

You can also uncheck the HUD headlock box in the Cyberpunk tab which will make it visible on the map. You can just check the box again after that....... or not, up to you :) Some people like playing without the HUD being locked which is why Luke put the box there :)

Tom Kim

Is it possible to uncheck the HUD headlock box in order to lock the HUD on the screen, in Horizon Forbidden West? (by the way, the latest update made it easy to see the HUD. I appreciate it :-)

Maciej

I am member ,I pay 10USD per month but cant have access to VR moods? Any suggestion please?

Brandon(Post Maester)

Sorry, I thought this was another post from someone that asked about not being able to see the map fully in Cyberpunk. I remembered the headlock box for CP so went looking and replied to the wrong person :) The same option is not present in Forbidden West unfortunately. Luke did not put the HUD on a separate layer for that game, he just gave us the ability to resize the HUD which saves tons of modding time.

MAME-FAN

Trying to play HFW and Uncharted, but both have HUDS that are way too big to play. Quest 3 w/ VD. Changing the HUD options in the REAL menu didn't do anything even after redoing resolution in the REAL menu.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Uncharted is kind of going to be an issue as you cant really do much about it. Forbidden west, there are HUD sliders in the HFW tab that should resize the HUD. I'll try them when I wake up to make sure they are still working but they should.

Daniel Brown

the resize hud sliders dont do anything is there a fix as really want to play forbidden west

Brandon(Post Maester)

You may need to adjust the ppd slightly and hit adapt resolution before the HUD sliders will take effect.
