Well, at this point Ian Higton doesn't need any introduction. Suffice it to say that in the heat of battle ("heat" to be taken seriously, as fiery arrows are literally raining from the sky), he still finds the time to analyze some fine points of, ahem, horse anatomy.

There is no doubt: he is the Samurai hero destined to save VR from oblivion, so please like and subscribe and support the work he and Eurogamer are doing!!! I mean, what other major gaming website has a VR corner that publishes new videos every week?

Thanks everybody for liking this game and the VR mod so much <3

P.S. I'm aware that Hogwarts Legacy has been broken by the recent update: a fix is already in the works, and if testing goes well it should be out in a couple of days.

Does the resolution have to be much higher than other games? I feel like the graphics are lowered a lot.

Hogwarts legacy is my favorite game. I played almost everyday. I hope the fix ist working good so I can play again. I also tried praydog mod but your mod worked better imo.

i saw luke said DLAA is great for this game, is this compatible running with DLSS? when i chose DLSS the DLAA option is greyed out, is there a way i can force run DLAA by editing anything?

Brandon(Post Maester)

DLAA is applying Nvidia TAA to the game at full res, so no upscaling. That is why it is greyed out when you turn on DLSS. So disable DLSS and then DLAA should be an anti-aliasing option you can choose instead of TAA. That is actually why it is better and has less artifacts because you are applying it on top of the full res image :)

Brandon(Post Maester)

Not much higher than other games that Luke has modded, no :) Make sure you don't have motion blur or depth of field on. Are you using DLSS?

Wilson Ng

Got it! I have a 13900k+rtx4090 but 4K + DLAA still drop frame rate quite a bit, for now I found DLSS quality already gives a good enough experience…

Looncan

Lukeross focus on 1st person games, supporters couldn't give a frogs arse about 3rd person games. 3rd person breaks immersion

Brandon(Post Maester)

You forgot two very important words.... For me! Plenty of supporters are just fine with 3rd person VR. It is entirely an opinion and preference. You basically are just stating your opinion as a fact which is not helpful.

sherman james

Looncan you are foolish. This man is working hard to bring us vr fun and you're complaining. I love 3rd person vr and am beyond greatfull. I don't wanna move aroun after a hard days work all the time. This is the answer to that. I'm playing spiderman know and can't wait for God of War!!!

Looncan

It's a widley held proveable belief that 3rd person breaks immersion, using the search term "3rd person breaks immersion" will easily garner a 10+ page google result proof of fine gaming scholars proving 3rd person breaks immersion. People don't play VR to have immersion broken this is why games like Dead Rising or Just Cause do the whacky storylines as they'll never be taken serious as full immersion games

Tomo

speak for yourself brother. 3rd person is the best VR experience.

Tomo

God of war ! Yes!

AaronCLS

This guy is deadly wrong as 3rd person is a great experience in VR. I've noticed that players like this one offer a very confusing feedback to creators, corporate or otherwise. Somehow making it sound like we - VR consumers - only and exclusively want 1rst person, motion controlled games (which are much more costly an difficult to develop). And this is not true, at all! VR is a great format for varied perspectives and experiences. By all means, have your preferences, but do try to have an open mind.

i downloaded and installed REAL_mod_by_LukeRoss_v12_1_1.zip into Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition v2.1 + All DLCs + Bonus Content + REDmod game folder (bin 64) to see if it worked as there is a plethora of threads on reddit albeit 5 and 7 months old from people who couldn't get it to work in vr on their various headsets. I also could not get cyberpunk to launch in my pico neo 3 link wired displayport headset as it only showed up on my flatscreen tv. If i buy the current version on sale from Cd keys ;

punkross

(contd.) Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition PC (GOG) will that work with REAL_mod_by_LukeRoss_v12_1_1.zip. I don't want to waste another £ 29 pounds ore worse still £ 49 pounds for the steam version if it isn't going to work as I am only interested in playing it in VR. any advice greatly appreciated thanks in advance

It's a dream come true to be able to go into the GoT universe in VR. So please don't speak for everyone.

Brandon(Post Maester)

The phrasing is mostly the issue here. What immersion does it break exactly? The game is 3rd person in the first place so how would being 3rd person suddenly break some form of immersion the game never had? Luke is actually adding more immersion by being able to go inside of the world in full 3d. When it comes down to it, what they really mean is that "it is less immersive" than first person. That statement holds some truth to it, but it is only one possible factor of immersion. The real question becomes, is it immersive enough? That is very much an opinion based upon multiple factors, not just first vs third person. I mean 3rd person games still sell well depending on how good the game is itself so people can definitely still be plenty immersed in them. The last 2 years, Elden Ring was game of the year and then Baldur's Gate 3, neither of which are first person. They are also not VR (native) games which is arguably even less immersive still, yet people were definitely immersed enough in them. So I believe your comment really just breaks down to a preference of first-person VR over third person VR which is totally fine, but it is not really practical to make this a first-person game due to how the combat works and it is a great game that I and others find plenty immersive enough without first-person. I am very glad Luke added it to the lineup. I would much rather play this in 3rd person than lots of first-person native VR standalone games. That is just my preference though :) The flip side of the whole ultimate VR immersion argument is that VR is not as immersive as it could possibly be yet, no matter what Luke chose to implement. What about haptic gloves and VR contact lenses instead of a headset? There is no way current VR could be nearly as immersive as the Holodeck from Star Trek. Should we then just say current VR breaks immersion? You may actually be preferencing yourself out of enjoying a great experience by setting standards that are unreasonable. You are definitely welcome to enjoy whatever you enjoy though, as are other people :) No need to be rude or dogmatic about it.

Wilson Ng

I don’t know how anyone can prove immersion breaking as immersion is so personal to oneself. I totally love 3rd person VR and FF7 remake was a dream comes true. First person is good too like cyberpunk but both can coexist

AaronCLS

Hiya, I use Index not Pico but the most recent mod version is currently working great with the latest game updates (Steam)

Brandon(Post Maester)

This is a duplicate post, I responded to their post in the Start Here section already. Thanks for chipping in, always welcome :)

The graphics never come out neatly It's so messy What's wrong? No matter how high the resolution is, it's the same symptom If you do this, you can't play games My eyes hurt..

Brandon(Post Maester)

What game? Make sure you don't have motion blur or depth of field on. It is never going to look like native monitor resolution because you are looking at the game and textures etc. way, way closer than it was designed for. That also means that things like blur from AA and lower distant LOD textures are going to be much more noticeable. Try using DLAA if you can or DLSS quality as a second option. FSR in GOT is sharper so you can give that a shot but you might find it to be too much sharpening. What resolution are you playing at?

Ángel Moreno Alcalá

Hello Luke! Your mod for Ghost of Tsusima is very good! I think your mod is perfect for games without aiming since it uses a traditional controller, so please, it would be great to be able to play Batman Arkham Knight or the Assassin's Creed saga in VR. I hope to see you in the future, it would be wonderful. Thank you so much!

Kheldar7

Hello. I would like to advise what would be best way to play Ghost of Tsushima VR on Pimax Crystal Light. The most fluid performance is on Oculus routine (I know, strange :) but there is one catch. FOV is crippled by ellipse shape, everything beyond is black and edge of visible image is blocky (colored blocks). Ellipse is even smaller on map view / menu view so I can barely see the content. SteamVR has nice picture and FOV but ugly judder when rotating camera. Even worse judder is in Pimax XR mode. Thank you for the hint.

Brandon(Post Maester)

You want to use the Oculus runtime as it uses Oculus compatibility for your headset to work correctly. You will also need to uncheck the boxes for the new mipmap behavior in the REAL overlay to get rid of the circular view issue.

Kheldar7

Working! Thanks a lot.

Major Straffe

Anyone have any clue how to get rid of the transparent black rectangle on the screen? I assume it's a part of the Hud/UI since it just has the name of the part I am on on it. The Hud setting is also greyed out on my game. No clue how to resolve this.

RossH

Did you ever resolve this? I would like to get rid of this, also.

Jason C

How about just letting me uninstall this. I can't delete files and re-load Cyberpunk... Just want to get back to something that works... I wish I had never tried the mod

Tiger Man

where is the main thread of ghost of tsushima ? i just bought it but i can t find the main thread to see if there's something to do
