I agree Trey, I don't like what they did with Fez and it felt so weird even the way Rue's "talking" to Fez didn't feel natural at all the things they were saying just like based on the Fez we all know was very out of character. Also Fez's brother was killed in the season 2 finale, he got shot.

sam said fez was supposed to be the backbone of the season and they talked about it a lot together but then he passed, but the phone call clearly seemed like fez was joking to me. he would never actually talk about escaping prison on a monitored call.

this is kind of bs. fez was lighthearted and easy going, it would be in character for him to crack a joke and talk about breaking out. keeping him alive in universe is nice, they dont need to kill him off because he died irl. i do think though it would have been better if they made an ai of his voice using his real voice so we could hear him on the other end
