This was a surprise. To answer the pronoun question. Phos (the main character) says "ore" multiple times when referring to himself. "ore" is the most commonly used and most equivalent to "he". These characters are living gemstones (which is why they can crack break have very shiny translucent hair and wear foundation to look like they have skin) so they are technically genderless as they are rocks.
