Quick update! (Patreon)

Hey guys!
I wanted to take a moment and update you on what’s been going on.
Quick recap from my last post: I mentioned that the upcoming version is really challenging, not because I don’t know what I want to do, but because I wasn’t sure how to set it up. I was debating whether to try a free roam style for the first time, or keep going with the structure I’ve been using so far. I also read all the comments you left, and thanks for the feedback! It really helped me get a general feel for what most of you think.
The good news is that I now have a solid setup for how it’s going to work. From the little testing I’ve done so far, it feels really fun, and I hope you’ll feel the same once you play it.
I’m not going to explain exactly how it works just yet, mostly because I don’t think I can describe it properly in words without making it sound confusing. I’d rather you experience it in-game.
Creating new things is always exciting and stressful. Sure, I could keep doing the same thing over and over, but at least for me, I like bringing something new into each update and experimenting with new ideas.
That brings me to the next subject.
Over the past week, you’ve probably seen that I uploaded some AI animation tests on Discord (in a dedicated channel). A few people asked if I’m planning on integrating AI into the game, so I wanted to clear things up here.
I know AI is a controversial topic. Some people like it, some people hate it.
As of right now, the game stays exactly as it is. I’m still doing the animations manually in Daz, just like I always have.
So why did I spend time learning AI animation stuff at all? Because the world is changing fast. More and more people are using AI tools, and I didn’t want to be left behind.
And if I’m being totally honest with you, I thought we were still a couple years away from AI being able to handle animations properly. But after playing with it for a week, it feels like we might be a lot closer than I expected.
I’m only testing it on the side, not replacing my workflow or the style of the game.
That’s it for now!
Cheers 🍻TTrick
