This Mr. Bungle listening party from 2021 is blocked on YouTube, and I somehow forgot to reupload it when I was putting all the blocked videos here on Patreon! This was a special listening party at the request of one of our late members, Dee, before he went into palliative care. Dee also requested the Lateralus song analysis. It's somewhat comforting to remember Dee's contributions to our community in this way, but I wish he were still with us.

I love this album. I put this on (especially None of Them Knew They Were Robots) when I’m in a silly ass Ren & Stimpy mood

I didn't get to know Dee, but he seems like a beautiful person. I'm glad we can honor his memory while we listen to this.

I was already a fan of their first album (which, comparatively, is more like metal/circus + soupcon of jazz), and when California came out it utterly blew my mind. I definitely wrote the words "I didn't know music could be this" in my LiveJournal or somewhere.

this is a lovely tribute

California is definitely my favourite of the three. I has more of a cohesion to it, despite the usual madness. The atrwork is to mimic a Supertramp record from memory. They also got in a big ongoing feud with Red Hot Chilli Peppers who wanted to release their album on the same day.. That drum fill at 13:12
