oops apparently this was a request-based NIN remix listening party, not a Fixed listening party. Apologies if I got your hopes up.

This one's from the archives, way back in 2021!

So, some fun facts. Coil (which you recently had an album listen with) did the two tracks that you deferred: Closer (Precursor) - This WAS used in a film! It was the opening credits to Se7en, the one with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman. The Downward Spiral (The Bottom) Credited Mixing Engineers from the album: John Balance, Drew Mcdowell, Danny Hyde Both highlight the early/mid-90s Coil sound. The swirly tape warbly sound effects and use of phasing is a pretty good fingerprint. Contrast these tracks to the albums Love's Secret Domain, Stolen and Contaminated Songs, and Unnatural History III and you'll immediately hear the similarities.
