MAY 2026 Patreon musical challenge: DOUBLE WHAMMY (Patreon)

This month's challenge is in two parts.

PART 1

Send me an unfinished track and I'll "finish" it...I may not finish the entire thing, it may just be 30 seconds of finished music, or I may transform it entirely. You give me all the control muwahahahahahaaaa! PLEASE send me your stems by the end of this month (May 31st) at midnight CST but the sooner the better.

HOW TO PREPARE YOUR SONG FOR SUBMISSION:

Send me your individual instrument tracks or instrument groupings as audio files, wavs or mp3s - these are "stems" for our purposes. Let's say your song has a guitar, a synth, a bass, a vocal, and a frog; you'd send me each of those parts in their own audio file. You can send all your drum tracks together, or send each part of the groove separately (like kick, hihats, clanging metal, etc.) if you want me to get more creative with it.

If your track was produced in a DAW to a metronome, please export your tracks all starting on beat 1 of the first bar so when I load them up, they all start at the right time. If you don't, it's not the end of the world. I can get creative!

If your track is still in the "song idea" phase and you haven't properly recorded it, that's ok too. Just send me an audio file of what you have.

If your song has lyrics, consider putting a text file in the Dropbox folder with your lyrics so I don't mishear anything!

HOW TO SUBMIT:

Create a folder in this Dropbox folder with YOUR NAME, and include BPM_WORKING TITLE too if either or both are applicable, and upload your files to it!

Consider naming the files themselves with your name_instrument, but not required.

PART 2

Assuming part 1 doesn't take you all month, I have another challenge for you. I want you to play with DISTORTION. There are no rules on how or to what you apply it to, or even the end result. if you're newer to production and need advice on distortion pedals or plugins, Discord is a great spot to comingle.

I've used the Distortion II plugin in Logic before and have enjoyed it.

I have been dusting off some old ideas I had from 13 years ago. While that stuff is not new in a proper sense, I'm having to reinterpret it from scratch. Would it be OK to send you one of those? It's all good if not. Also, from what I understand, the Part 1 doesn't necessarily need to have distortion in it, right?

OK. Uploaded mine. Not entirely sure if I did it right as I see 11 people have access to mine but I don't see anyone else's folders. I left notes with it as well. Let me know if I missed anything.

She mentioned on the Discord that she downloaded and removed the other files in order to make some space. I also uploaded mine today, I see your folder and mine on the common space, but nothing else.
