I have to work Friday but I’d like to see you analyze Poppy. Maybe BLOODMONEY? That one seems to have a lot going on.

Matt Munro

“Better” by Guns N’ Roses. Written by Robin Finck and Axl Rose. Let’s go there.

The Critical Thinker

Not sure how musically complex it is, but it is one of the most impactful things I've ever heard ... 'May Failure Be Your Noose' by Lingua Ignota

Michael Porter

Silverchair's "After All These Years" is a beautiful song that doesn't get much attention.

John Molyneux

I would absolutely LOVE to hear your thoughts on any Cardiacs song, but I would most love to see what you'd make of The Duck & Roger The Horse. I think it's musical genius, some think it's utter madness. I wonder what you'd think!

João Veiga

Madredeus - O Pastor Contemporary folk (if that’s a thing) from Portugal :-) there’s something in there that feels very visceral, akin to NIN.

ixi music

that's funny I was just looking at her page today and saw she was nominated for best metal performance for that song!

Kai Bertsch

How about Benighted by Opeth? Hauntingly beautiful acoustic song with interesting runs and transitions between intro/bridge/verse. I've always wanted to know why the chord choices work so well together.

Ruthie Ward

The Perfect Kiss by New Order.

Craig Griffith

“Desert Sea” by Jawbox. 90s DC post-hardcore band with an amazing balance between melody and challenging rhythms and harmonies.

Kai Ellis

This is Seal's "March of the Pigs" in that every time I try to tap my foot to the song I realize I can't figure out the time signature LOL But also just such a beautiful song in every way. https://youtu.be/GRMLpJ-v7vk

Would really dig some classic rock stuff like hendrix and the doors or some newer stuff like washed out or ruby suns

Whatever you like - send me a song title and I'll do my best to get to it on Friday! :)

Gutek

I would love to hear an analysis of “To Bloom” by Hopesfall. I love their use of lead guitar, basically providing a constant melody on top of their riffs. The singer also has very interesting phrasing.

Travis Hyde

I should be able to make the stream, but just in case... I Appear Missing by Queens of the Stone Age if you haven't heard it. If you are familiar with I appear missing already, #41 by Dave matthews band.

ixi music

Kai, I may not have gotten to the heart of that question during the stream, but I'm going to listen to that song a lot this week so I'll get back to you :)

Kai Ellis

Thank you so much for digging a little into "Dreaming in Metaphors" :) Listening to that song is the definition of nostalgia for me. It almost hurts I love it so much. He said in his interview with Rick Beato that at the time he couldn't play any instruments and that the reason he ended up doing so much modal interchange during that period of his songwriting is just because he "didn't know you weren't supposed to do that" LOL
