Sorry we couldn't get to that today but I will make sure we do that tomorrow Zachary! 👍

No worries! Thanks for getting to it at all. 😀

Days of the New - an acoustic band so heavy they opened for Metallica :) Love to hear your thoughts on the harmonies throughout, but especially in the second verse and second chorus. Oh and also in the final chorus Nicole is doing a cool counter melody. Fun fact - the female singer doing harmony is Nicole Scherzinger, who went on to front The Pussycat Dolls. Second verse starts 1:06 Final chorus 2:50 https://youtu.be/YFB3-rEfRDc

I won’t be able to make it, but Soundgarden’s “Pretty Noose” (focus on choruses with interlocking lines) and “Switch Opens” (all sorts of unconventional harmonies) are both worth exploring.

Pretty Noose is one of my all time favorites. That's the song where I went "hang on who is this band?"

Django Django - Loves Dart (preferably live on kexp, thumbnail with the drummer and coconuts)

Another dealer’s choice, this time from former TDEP vocalist Greg Puciato’s side projects. 1) The Black Queen - Maybe We Should Atmospheric dark synthpop project featuring Joshua Eustis aka Telefon Tel Aviv. This song is full of unusual yet beautiful vocal harmonies from start to finish. 2) Greg Puciato - Absence as a Presence Greg recorded this album after performing AIC songs live with Jerry Cantrell back in late 2019, and the influence is undeniable in this song. Skip to 2:25 for some subtle harmonies in the clean part of the verse, the chorus harmonies will kick in at 3:08. The last chorus at 3:41 is a slightly heightened version.

I just heard both these songs in the last month and LOVED them!

This was SO GOOD. Honestly if you wanted to just make the next several livestreams/videos about vocal harmonies I think we'd all be here for it!

Zedd (Zack) Sully

I couldn’t make the stream, but I totally do the same harmony in the car to “This Mess We’re In” all the time.
