What are the NIN/T Rez analysis videos you'd like to still see made? I'm curious where the cross over is between what songs I love and what songs you love because it would be a joy to prioritize those videos for the greater good!

So far I've made analysis videos for:

The Frail (studio and AATCHB versions)

Just Like You Imagined

The Great Below

Beside You In Time

Every Day Is Exactly The Same

Right Where It Belongs

All The Love In The World

The Great Destroyer

Zero Sum

Everything

La Mer

Adrift & At Peace

Various Methods of Escape

Wish

Something I Can Never Have (PHM version)

The Downward Spiral (album)

The Becoming (Still)

Gone, Still

Isn't Everyone (w/ HEALTH)

The Big Come Down

The Wretched

In This Twilight

The Perfect Drug

We've done these listening parties/live analyses:

The Fragile Deviations

Purest Feeling

Gone Girl OST

NIN remixes

Siggy

My vote is on Into The Void!

Chris Egert

+1 Into The Void. Those vocal harmonies sound complex and crazy!

Jason Brogan

Before the Flood [title track from the score]

RobinYutani

Deep, Sunspots, and Demon Seed just because I love them and Sanctified just because it never really grabbed me like the rest and maybe an analysis could help me appreciate it more like the Everything video did.

Travis Hyde

Even Deeper - Without a doubt.

Zedd (Zack) Sully

I can’t believe I missed it. Thanks Ixi! Have you done Only yet?

Michael James Pettit

Somewhat Damaged. Maybe not the most harmonically rich but man those rhythms....!

ixi music

No, probably not going to get its own video but if there's a specific thing or two about it you'd like my thoughts on I can probably send you a few thoughts :)

Marcus Smith

It's not NIN proper, but what about some How to Destroy Angels stuff? The Space in Between and BBB are both great tracks. I think you've mentioned in another video that Trent has some identifying harmonic tendencies that make his music very identifiably his (stuff that goes beyond his unique sound design and production). It would be cool to see some of that

A.David Silverman

Adrift and at Peace and or Leaving Hope. Also, I loved your vids on overlooked/deep NIN cuts. And, at some point, some of the 'score' work Trent has done like, "Nun with a Motherf**king gun," from Watchmen etc.

Matt Munro

I’d love to see you look at “Sin” or “Sanctified”. I feel like Pretty Hate Machine gets overlooked and it really is an intensely compelling record that stands on its own.

ixi music

For sure. Fur Lined was the first HTDA song I heard, and I didn't know who they were. I just remember saying out loud "woah. This sounds like Nine Inch Nails with a female singer." Btw if you search Patreon for "HTDA" there's a listening party recording you can download for Welcome oblivion!

Holly

plus one

Ruthie Ward

I could be cruel and suggest "Screaming Slave," but I won't. 😜 But the Fixed remixes of either "Gave Up" or "Happiness in Slavery" would be fun.

Alex

Would be interesting to have something from the recent trilogy. It’s pretty atonal, and I’d be curious how an analysis of it would be structured, but Play the Goddamned Part is one of my favourite tracks from Bad Witch.

Michael Radnan

I love Even Deeper for an analysis video! Great range of melodies and rhythms which are awkwardly beautiful.

Kai Ellis

Totally agree! One of the reasons I want the song analyzed is that it's not there's not a crazy amount of harmonic movement so I want to understand what choices he made that cause the harmony to still be so sophisticated and compelling.

Kai Ellis

Love Play the Goddamned Part as well. There are so many interesting choices being made on the trilogy. My votes would be Less Than, The Lovers, and God Break Down the Door.

Kai Ellis

Came Back Haunted is one of my favs. Also on the subject of "so simple, yet so good" is "Hand Covers Bruise" from The Social Network OST. The melody is so short and sparse, and yet it is haunting and rich and full of emotion. What is it about the note choices and rhythm that's causing such a simple composition to be so compelling?

Etvid

I agree! And they are shorter albums ixi!

Etvid

I'm Looking Forward to Joining You, Finally.

João Veiga

Terrible Lie Less Than …Entire Year Zero because 2022? 😬

Bobhatescomputers

Kinda I want to, sanctified (purest feeling era), last, the line begins to blur

Elena

Would love to see one for either Where Is Everybody? or Leaving Hope, but I'll be happy with anything!

ixi music

Leaving Hope is definitely coming!

Beguile

So many great suggestions already, I'll just 2nd everything suggested already and say do whatever you feel like doing the most! :)
