Admittedly I don't know much of Imogen Heap's music otherwise but I love this song so much and have always wanted to fall deeply into the harmonies and get to know their intricacies. Is it true that this song is about her parents' divorce when she was a kid? It's so warm and so sad and nostalgic and empty all at the same time. It's amazing to me that she keeps us hanging on her every word and completely engaged without anything but her voice.

btw the studio move has been a bit more of a to-do than I expected and I still don't have it all figured out but just gotta keep moving forward - the urge to move my keyboard and mic back not my bedroom is STRONG. There were challenges having my studio in that corner in my bedroom, but they are familiar challenges. Have you been through a situation like that, where you thought something was going to solve all your problems and instead it's just a different set of problems? 😂 I might give in for the next few videos, we'll see...;)

I’m so excited to watch this. I do know she did get some inspiration from the Laurie Anderson track “O Superman”.

You saved me from an ocean of content I have no desire to consume, thank-you.

That's a gorgeous track - thank you for doing this video. I've never been able to get into Imogen Heap, despite her obvious talent, but that particular song is beautiful. I think it's time I tried again!

As someone who has moved their studio space a lot in the last few years, I absolutely empathize on the studio move. It always takes about 3x longer than you think it will, and new problems ALWAYS arise. For me, I had all of my outboard hardware and synthesizers neatly wired and when I arranged everything in my new space found that all my audio cable runs were now too short for the bigger room. I had to drop close to $1500 on new cabling that I had not budgeted for, and that really stung. What else... I bought a brand new desk that I carefully sized for my console and realized the keyboard tray I was planning on putting all of my peripherals on was too low with the console at the correct height, so I had to take it out and modify it. I couldn't get the monitor arm to fit on the desk and over the console at this height either, so I had to FIND A WELDER on yelp to fabricate a longer metal arm. I won't even go into the nightmare that is rewiring a 10x48 TRS patchbay system several times to accommodate an expanding setup and allow for an intuitive mixing workflow. Anyways, I'm only sharing this to hopefully make you feel a little better. Take a moment to breathe, and allow yourself the time to setup everything correctly and thoughtfully and as future-proof as you can, cuz your home studio ain't gonna get smaller in the future! ;)

yeah that does make me feel better though I hurt for you! Glad you got it sorted and hopefully so will I. Either that or I'll give up and go back to the bedroom haha
